That is a pretty reasonable price for a Tomahawk steak. I guess it depends on the size/oz of the steak. A restaurant near my house in North Jersey has a 34oz Tomahawk for $145 and Ruth’s Chris Steahouse offers a 40oz Tomahawk but the price is unavailable on the website. I’ve never splurged for a Tomahawk but the price in Disney doesn’t seem out of line.
It might not be for everyone but at least they are offering it for the people would like it.
I was going say the same exact thing! A tomahawk steak is shared between two people, so that’s $60 per person. That’s actually a great prize considering if you go to the yachtsman, it’s about $65 and up for a steak. California grills tomahawk steak is closer to $200. I would definitely buy this!
At a grocery store you MIGHT be able to get a tomahawk ribeye for $30, on sale, normally more. But then you have to cook it yourself, and make the sides. And clean up afterwards.
$120 is pretty much the middle of the restaurant pricing for that cut of meat. Miami restaurants run about $105 to $169 for it.
forced to eat it ?? Nobody is twisting their arms . Really need to stop making things sound so bad . I wouldn’t pay 120.00 for any food but certainly people do .
That’s probably about right for that in price.
My observation was that they talk about this restaurant being an immersive experience in Mexican cuisine, but they serve a tomahawk steak? Don’t know how authentic that is.
Oh, and for a place that has become so inclusive and “woke” (for lack of a better term at this time), is “tomahawk” really a good choice of name? Maybe it will offend some Native American patrons to the park?
BTW, I am native and could care less. Just another observation about how you can’t be inclusive to everybody, because you don’t know WHO will be “offended”.
There are other eateries throughout Disney that charge a comparable price for a Tomahawk steak. This is no big deal, as the steak is usually shared between 2 people, which brings the cost down to $60 per person. For Disney, this is about the right price. For those who choose this entree (i.e., not forced to order), I say ‘enjoy’!
You make an interesting point, I have wondered if anyone finds the terminology insensitive or offensive. I know it is an industry name for the cut of the steak, because of the large bone forming a handle, similar to a tomohawk or are.
Also curious as to how it fits in with the Mexican cuisine.
Lmao no one is upset by the name tomahawk steak. That’s really ignorant of you, have you ever seen one? The cut looks like a tomahawk. The ax. Christ. Making something out of nothing.
Don’t like it don’t buy it. It’s an option. Meaning you aren’t forced to get it.
$120.00 for a steak, is ok. Not everybody can afford it. But those who can and want it, will order the steak.
An average family or person will just order something else off the menu. A resort, Sumseekers Resort, there is a steak restaurant that sells steaks for for $100.00 or more. A restaurant at Disney Springs which is a steak restaurant, steak cost alot of money. If you go there, you know the costs. Same as the Mexican restaurant. If you oder it you know the price. Common sense tells me, not to order this $120.00 steak. Us your budget, don’t complain, and get over it!
It’s a Tomohawk steak. They are huge. It’s a showpiece for a steakhouse to serve, as it is quite impressive looking. A good steak like that, and I have every reason to believe Disney is doing it well, can cost over $200 at a high end restaurant. $120 *is* a lot of money, but it’s not out of line.
You know that this restaurant is not Disney owned it’s outsourced. Not all Disney restaurants are owned by Disney. There is a lot of outsourcing so you really can’t blame Disney.
Tomahawk steaks are typically priced and sized for 2, usually between 32 and 40 ounces. Also, $120 is low end for a Tomahawk. Better steakhouses are closer to $180 and DON’T include salads or sides
No one is forced to pay. Order something else. At my son’s restaurant a Tomahawk steak starts at $155. They can feed between 3-4 people. It just gives more options. We live in Florida. That is a reasonable price.
You dont go to a “high tier dining” for “affordable menus. And a TOMAHAWK steak is MASSIVE. They are like 90-100 just to buy at the grocery store here in BC canada. Ppl will B**** about anything!
A Tomahawk steak in my SUPERMARKET is about $100., SO.. if Disney is charging $120+, seems correct w/sides, PLUS, Disney gets top quality meat! If you can indulge 1x in your life, go for it!
Comments for Disney Guests Will Now Be Forced To Pay $120 for Meat at Park

For all their virtue signaling about inclusion, they are certainly not including anyone but the wealthy.

Seriously? You can share as it’s a huge steak plus sides or order something cheaper. It’s a Mexican restaurant, I’m sure you can get tacos. SMH

I wouldn’t order anything at that price. But if you can afford it, go for it. If they have it on the menu, it means it is probably selling.
Don
Really good price for a Tomahawk! People complain too much. Must be sad to be them.

If it is something you want buy it, otherwise skip it. You are not obligated to buy it
Mary
Usually tomahawk steaks feed two people, so it’s not too bad

Tomahawk is the type of cut, it’s industry wide and not exclusive to Disney

What the heck is a tomahawk steak? Never heard the name before. I assume it is an American term.

$120 for Tomahawk steak is actually not a bad price at all. Thats a beautiful restaurant.

Too pricey, Just don’t buy it… Beef is a premium these days and a similar steak in Huntsville AL was $68 ala cart.

2 years ago, I paid $150 at STK in Disney Springs so, this is a reasonable price and my wife and I shared the plate as it was a large portion
Michelle
Pretty on point for price. There are other options on the menu and definitely within Epcot for any budget. No one is forced to buy anything.
