While these new offerings are exciting, today also marks a big loss at EPCOT.

Walt Disney World’s EPCOT takes guests on a global adventure year-round through its exciting lineup of international festivals. Each festival brings the sights, sounds, and flavors of a different corner of the world to life, offering a unique experience for every season.

Last year, the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival ran through the summer beginning in July, which allowed guests to have another festival very quickly following the end of Flower and Garden, but now, that is no longer happening, and all topiaries have been cleared from the park.

Now, Food and Wine will begin on August 29, 2024, meaning guests will go through most of the summer without a festival. The booths will be removed, there will be no more nightly performances, and the specialty merchandise will be gone for the summer, a typical peak season for the park.

This was how the schedule typically worked pre-pandemic; however, Disney did try to elongate the festival lengths in recent years. The Food and Wine Festival will run from August 29 through November 23!
