  1. That’s bizarre. Disney is strict about the characters’ height and waist line, but it’s ok for a guy to play a QUEEN?! Disney deserves to lose money to Universal.

    1. Kungaloosh

You’re absolutely certain that all the female roles at Universal are played by women? And you know this HOW? LOL

    2. Cindy

We’ve just quit going. This has to stop. If enough pressure is put on them, they will eventually line up. Money talks and they can’t operate without our money.

      1. Maria

You’re in the minority, Cindy. It’s far more lucrative not just financially but morally to be an understanding person.

        1. Orphaned son

You really have no moral compass, do you….

  2. Pizzaguy

    ….

  3. Kungaloosh

Let’s face it. A queen should be played by queen!

    Well played, Disney. Well played.

  4. Fran

No, No, No Please stop with this gender war. A Queen is a woman and a King is a male. If I had young children I would not take them to Disney anymore because it is getting freaky with all these people that want to identify as a different gender. I can’t feel comfortable saying Miss, Mam, or Sir because they get offended. Please bring back the family experiences and leave the gender confusion to home environments. I will talk to my children/grandchildren about world events INCLUDING this gender confusion.

    1. Spank You Very Much

There’s no confusion here. A queen is a queen is a queen.

    2. Cindy

Yes!!!!! Wholeheartedly agree!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t give Disney your money!!!!

      1. Daryl-Rhys

Give Disney your money. Its not worth you having it.

  5. Rose

Disney has gotten so gross & disgusting! What about all of us that aren’t gay, or queer or trans or whatever the latest sicko term is? Don’t you want those of us, the majority of us, I might add, to come there & spend money?
Or are you counting on just the “others” to come there? Good luck with that. What the H is wrong with this picture? Or are all those decision makers there also gay/trans?

    1. Cassie

What about people who aren’t queer? You get…

      …checks notes…

Literally every other character that isn’t this one to enjoy and represent you. If 99% of the pie is unacceptable to you, you’re welcome to have 0% of the pie and stay home.

    2. Kungaloosh

As someone who does not identify as gay or trans, I continue to go there and spend money, so please don’t think you’re speaking for me and others who happen to share my hetero lifestyle choice. I’m able to coexist comfortably in the real world with other openminded people of different persuasions, because it’s what grownups do.

      1. Orphaned son

No, it’s what people with no moral beliefs do…

        1. Kungaloosh

Morality is a subjective human construct, not a preexisting concept that humans follow blindly unless they were indoctrinated by organized religion and convinced that hell exists. In other words, you do you, but don’t suggest how I should do me. It’s a philosophy more commonly known as “live and let live.”

      2. Jennifer Williams

I saw her last month and thought she was the best evil queen I had ever seen. She was poised and had the perfect attitude. My daughter and I enjoyed the interaction and never once thought “could this be a male?”. This is so blown out of proportion.

    3. Lily

Man, you really have to get over your insecurities, Rose. The world doesn’t care as much as you think – go spend your time on things that actual matter and make the world a better place.

    4. Mark

I used to work for Disneyland in the early 90s and I can assure you the LGBTQ community has been alive and well from the beginning. Disneyland even used to throw Gay Appreciation nights twice a year.

  6. Jennie

So what. Leave humans alone. No one is even certain if this character is a male. The end result is everyone had fun. Female roles in operas have been played by males for hundreds of years.

  7. Tom

Women should play women’s roles and men should play men’s roles. Period. No trans narratives at WDW.

    1. Bradley

Tom, you don’t really understand theater, do you?

      1. Orphaned son

Your really not expecting anyone here with a brain to swallow what you just said…are you?

  8. There is no way to tell whether this is a male or female, so why even make the assumption and cause an unnecessary rift?!

    1. Daryl-Rhys

Because its WDWpro and that’s what he does. Why does anyone take anything he says at face value?

    2. Stephen

Looked awesome! I have coworkers who have been to Disneyland every year for a long time. Loved the Evil Queen’s response! Very good makeup and realistic for a cartoon character! As for gender, why not complain about everything else, like did these people think Santa Claus is real also?

    3. Orphaned son

Yeah , you’re right. The huge hands and low voice are absolutely no indicator….yikes!

  9. Brooke

I didn’t really notice the queen was being played by a male cast member. And I have a life, so maybe that’s why I wasn’t offended?

  10. Susie

The Queen looks like Angelina Jolie to me, so what does that say.

    1. Orphaned Son

      Your clueless????

  11. Bren

All of you who have your panties in a bunch, they say they “think” it’s a male. Did they do the genital check??? Evidently they did not demand to see the genital area, so they are assuming this is a male. I’ve seen many females who have male type features, and males who have female features. So unless you saw a picture of the actual genitals, then you are in an uproar over nothing. Just falling for the same old crap, and not even reading, comprehending, or questioning. Just believing. Which leads to the question….who’s the sheep now?

  12. Stacy Anthis

It’s funny that the adults that are complaining about this, yet the children have no idea. They just see them as they are, characters in s story. I think it’s great to have the roles so versatile.

    1. Orphaned son

I hope you don’t have kids.

  13. And stage productions of Peter Pan have always had Peter played by a GIRL!!!
In Shakespeare’s day, women weren’t allowed on stage. Romantic lead JULIET was played by a man.
    Get Over It!

  14. Rroe

DEFINITELY a male…….Voice, mannerisms are all a give away.

  15. Mel

Wow, there are some really ignorant statements here. If you don’t like it, don’t visit. Disney will survive without your bigotry. Men have played women in entertainment for hundreds of years. It’s funny how the pearl clutchers come out of the woodwork when they don’t know for sure if it is a man. But it’s OK that Bo Peep is usually male because you can’t see their face right? Most women’s hips are too big to fit in that costume. (Former CM here) Every theme park uses their talent as needed. Get over yourselves and learn acceptance. As someone else said, a Queen is a Queen, is a Queen!!

    1. Orphaned son

Not bigotry to think it’s an aberration and perversion for a man to pass himself off as a female. Never mind the fact that a females role was taken by a man. Where are all the feminists here?

  16. Mary

    1) The poster did not even know whether the person is male or female, and I would not have even wondered if people hadn’t assumed. I would have just seen a really, really great Evil Queen! 2) CHILDREN would have no idea regardless; 3) I know a girl who played Dopey, and assume Mickey is often a girl; 5) Oh, wait! I just realized Mickey and Minnie are not played by giant mice!! What will the children think?!

    1. Orphaned son

Wow, your about a quart low on the common sense fluid…your gears are grinding.

  17. Cass

Evil queens are SUPPOSED to be creepy and weird. What’s the issue?

    1. Orphaned son

They are not supposed to have Corn Dogs.

  18. Chris

People are assuming that this is a guy. It could be a masculine-looking female. I’ve seen them and they do exist. Although not pretty, they are female.

    1. Orphaned son

I will never go bar hopping with you…nope.

  19. Jo

This is shame. The is disgusting. This is wrong. If I had kids I wouldn’t bring them here. This is not what Walt would do.

  20. Deb

If that’s a woman (don’t know don’t care)she deserves to be a queen, she’s elegant and poised the epitome of a queen
