Disney can’t change a story they already significantly changed which originally was based on a tale by the Brothers Grimm who also significantly changed the story? I mean, the original story is pretty dark. Being offended over a Latina actress or some female dwarves seems pretty silly when compared to older versions of the tale which involves attempted rape, torture, multiple accounts of attempted murder, kidnapping, and implied necrophilia.
I don’t think it is at all fair to claim conservatives are against people of color or Latinas. What a divisive thing to say. The outcry has been against the fact that Snow White’s appearance is CLEARLY spelled out in the original story thus bringing about her name. Then on top that l, the actress gave horrible interviews that left really bad tastes in people’s mouths about the quality and integrity of the film. Not to mention a poor view of her attitude. THEN to have the seven dwarves politically charged adds to the ridiculous. If they had cast little people from any race and skin color, that would have been perfectly fine. I could argue no one cares about the ethnicity of the dwarves. Or if it was marketed as a spoof film…I think people would have received it better. But people are tired of movies with an agenda. And this is coming from someone whose favorite version of Cinderella was Brandy! It was just fun!
