This quote is actually difficult to understand. No Fantastic Four? Sure I get it. I expect them in Secret Wars but if A5 is more Earth based we don’t need them. No my problem is the next part where it says “the smaller characters”. Are they saying the smaller characters will appear or won’t? I think they meant “won’t”. So I think that the plan has changed. I don’t think Avengers 5 is Kang Dynasty anymore (in title or function). Secret Wars is still happening but it’s not Avengers 6. Confused? Let me explain. I think Iger and Feige are accepting 2 facts,1. They need a movie with Avengers in the title out ASAP and 2. They do not have enough time to do all the setup movies for Kang Dynasty before that happens. I think Kang Dynasty was supposed to be the “Kang War comes to 616” and focus on the Earth bound characters as they lose. Secret Wars was going to have the multiverse characters (X-Men, Deadpool, FF,legacy Spider-Men,etc.) Possibly with Doctor Strange and maybe some of the cosmic characters in an al hands on deck situation. I think that’s still happening but I think Secret Wars is a 2 part movie and Avengers 5 is something else. Smaller scale, less characters. An Avengers Reassembled if you will. Whatever the threat is, it only needs to tell the story of how the new Avengers lineup comes together.
Does anyone REALLY care anymore? Disney has pushed bad ideas, political agendas and terrible stories for so long. Alienating original fans that were willing to accept the overhaul and “Disneyfication” of our favorite childhood heroes as things went from acceptable revisions to downright unacceptable. They took a dump on my childhood for ridiculous political correctness, ego maniacal film makers who felt they knew better than 50 plus years of comic writers and even ignoring Stan Lee himself, who they only included in cameos to keep fans from bailing. Much like how they mishandled Star Wars. Pass
Marvel (and DC, heck most companies if you really think about it…) was full of politics and agendas, sometimes so out in the open it’s impossible to avoid them…
“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Clearly, the unparalleled success of the Avengers rested on the perfect chemistry between earth-bound and beyond characters. Changing the arc to earth-bound and including dismal, unremarkable characters, like X-men who pale in comparison to the Avengers, would be like offering a school fair instead of Disneyworld. If that is the direction, then I’m out!

The Avengers SHOULD NOT be all their race and sex swapped lame characters. A good lineup would be Vision, Thor, Mantis, Deadpool, and Red Hulk.
