100% Agree. Reboot some of the movies that were a good idea but flopped because of poor acting or budget or maybe even a few plot points that didn’t add up. Leave the genuine classics alone. Or… I am one of those people that doesn’t mind a new installment. But reboots are so tedious. We don’t need to retell the same story with a new “spin” when the old one is so perfect. Take a movie that was kinda bad and redo it into something epic if you really can’t come up with something new.
Do or do not. Nothing will change what’s already made. Maybe I’ll enjoy it, maybe I won’t. Either is equally subjective for all & neither do I allow for any movie to pose any effect upon my life.
If I’m correct, didn’t the two creators of the original have in their contract that as long as they were alive there was to be no reboots. It would be like rebooting Citizen Cane. Yes, it could be done, but should it? Leave it alone.
Hi. I love all three, but if I was to vote for the best one, I would say that 3 is the best, the only parts I did not like were, that the character of Clara caused Doc to stay in 1885 and also I hated when the Delorean got destroyed by the train.
I’m for it. I’ve loved all 3 of the BTTF films since I was a kid and would love to see a more modernized adaptation. It clearly says it won’t be a direct reboot/remake and all of the people letting what movie does or doesn’t get made affect their lives or “ruin it” for them, is just pathetic in my opinion.
The only way I can accept a reboot is if someone is actually watching the old movies on a dvd and then stumbles upon a buried flux capacitor next to the railroad tracks. It still works (somehow) and they create their own time machine and story line. Don’t remake the old movies which are classics.
If this is real…. how does someone like jj Abrams get backing for movies? Bomb after bomb I would think someone partially qualified would be making movies. I don’t want to believe this is real but I look at some of his choices and work from the past and darnnit….it’s real.
Seeing that Hollywood can’t come up with something original, of course they have to make a reboot. Leave it alone!!!!! The movies are a timeless classic. There’s no improving it. Just the same with Ghostbusters. They made a female version of the original movie.
Don’t reboot just add onto the existing storyline. If Michael J Fox can help direct them they might have a chance of success. Maybe Marty’s future kids can pickup the story or Doc’s kids. Something to think about.
I call bills hit. Robert Zemekis, has said publicly, more than once, that as long as he’s alive there will be NO more BTTF movies. I’m assuming this means reboots as well.
Besides why do we even need one? All these so called “writers” in Hollywood and none of them can come up with an original idea??
I’d really like it if Hollywood, and acclaimed directors leave the past alone. Some films stay in the Volt because they are top class. This is 1 of them. We already have Twisters coming, a crime but this is ruining the legacy of my most beloved film.
Everyone wants new material, is Hollywood tapped out? So lost in writing that wasting millions of dollars over and over just to put out a bunch of movies no matter the quality makes sense? FOR ALL WHO LOVE FILM, JJ ABRAMS, DO NOT REBOOT, REMAKE, REDESIGN, RECAST, REHASH BTTF. Not in any way unless Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd return respectively to ride 1 last time with a final goodbye.
Would u dare to remake THE GODFATHER, I THINK NOT SO WHY THIS?
This will be a standalone because zemeckis has already stated he won’t give permission for a reboot or sequel or whatever and he owns the rights and even I’d he dies the rights fo to his family and will adhere to his wishes
This is not a reboot or a sequel. Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis own the rights and are not making another film. There will be no Marty. No Doc Brown. No DeLorean. It won’t be called BTTF. It’s not happening. I don’t know why people comment without reading the article. It clearly states that Abrams is making a film that will be influenced by and pay homage to BTTF. Not a sequel or reboot.
Please do not reboot this movie If you want to capture this franchise is start with a new character As ever thought if Marty effected someone during his adventures in time. And watch their life changes
I think they should remake it only if it can and will be done better come on graphics video has changed so much since then I don’t believe any film is worthy of never to be done over again status
Which Back to the Future is the best? I look at is as one long movie told in three segments, each equal in their entertainment value.
As far a another installment, be it reboot, remake or just another idea in the same story, I feel if they did this 30 or even 20 years ago maybe it would work but, it couldn’t include the DeLorean as the time machine since it was destroyed by the train in the third and, by the time it would have occurred, the price for a DeLorean was increasing at a pretty rapid pace.
They’ll never be a reboot or remake while Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale are alive. They own the rights and have refused to allow anything to be made. This is a hoax/rumor that continues to be unfounded and the Bobs continue to say it’s not happening. Rest easy, this isn’t true.

NO!
Leave it ALONE! Instead of reboots, how about we make new movies, or reboot bad movies and turn them into something great.
Mare

JJ Abrams is a joke. He’s ruined Star Trek, & Star Wars and now he wants to direct BTTF? No thank you.

Im all for it as long as they put a chick in it and make her lame and gay.

Talk about something nobody asked for or wanted!

You can not redo great fms no matter what you do.

Absolute nonsense. It’s a fake trailer, 100% not happening. As much as I wanted it to be real.

There is only one. Marty McFly and doc. And, that’s Michael j. Fox and Christopher Lloyd

Bad idea you are destroying all that is good that Michael and Christopher made..LEAVE BACK TO THE FUTURE ALONE
Richard
Patrick, yes agreed leave it alone! Th et es only one BTTF! The Best!
Paul O'Neal
I think they should make a BTTF movie based off the game.
Andrew Boll
This is fake. They’re not doing it. Everyone involved agrees the story is told and there’s nothing else to add to it. Stop making up stories.

Please do not reboot this movie If you want to capture this franchise is start with a new character As ever thought if Marty effected someone during his adventures in time. And watch their life changes

I refuse to see anything even remotely rated to BTTF. come up with new ideas, stop trying to redo old ones.
