“President’s Day, originally known as Washington’s Birthday, commemorates the birth of George Washington”. I believe that is wrong. The U.S. use to have two separate holidays, one for Washington’s birthday and one for Lincoln’s birthday. When the U.S. made Martin Luther King’s birthday a national holiday, intead of giving all of us an extra holiday, they consolidated Washington’s and Lincoln’s into one President’s day holiday.
