Is this really a newsworthy story? It’s been common practice to search backpacks for years. I visit WDW once a year and know to get all the usual culprits ready for fill view
I always thank the security officer for helping to keep us safe. Makes me feel alot better than i do when i grumble. As long as i hold out my phone and ipad i’m ok. I did swap out my metal pill case for a plastic one.
If you watch. A lot of the time it is the lounge fly bags that trigger it too. We tested it and every time no matter who carried my daughter’s lounge fly it was searched. We started watching for others and maybe coincidence but teens with lounge fly’s made up a large part of the searches while we were there.
If they would upgrade their detection technology most of the secondary searches would be eliminated. They are using outdated technology which causes delays. Yes, you can pull these items from your bag and hold them out in front, but if they just updated their equipment this would not be needed.
My wife and 2 daughters carry loungefly bags into parks and get pulled every time. My daughters also wear glasses so the cases are in the loungefly. My wife wears contacts so she has no case for glasses yet she still gets pulled. We don’t carry much into parks these days. Sun screen face stick sharpies for autographs and a few other things that’s it. So I would agree with other poster on here that loungeflys are a target. They must have metal inside besides the zipper and metal clips on the straps.
Wish I’d known this a week ago! I got pulled twice and my sister got pulled 3 times. I have no idea what set mine off. My sister had a glasses case and lipstick case. The security told her it’s the magnet that they use to stay closed.
I used loungefly backpack s for me and my two kids all 4 days in the park and never set off the alarms or got searched but my coworker mom did Everytime and every park including the airport lmao she got searched for what she had in her bag not what kind of backpack
I’ve had the alarm go off a Disney World a few times, I didn’t have any weapons except my fists (I boxed amateur and professionally for years). How is Disney going to take them?

I’d set the alarm off every time when we would go thru all 4 parks. I have an artificial left knee. So I would set thr alarm off.

Typical woke invasion of personal privacy. Go woke, go broke!

Would you rather have a crazy person enter Disney with a gun, knife or bomb?
