This is total BS. For one, no other character BUT Bucky has much name recognition. Yelena & the others have been even MORE minor characters than Bucky in a movie hardly anyone saw & a few episodes of a TV show. That guy has been pulling for Pugh to take the lead since it was announced. Pugh wasnt the only actor in Atlanta in February. Also, Stan still has at least 2 more films on his contract.
So tired of Disney’s reimagining of legacy comic book characters to chase a demographic that doesn’t actually exist. As an avid Marvel comic collector from the 90s, I really loved MCU phases 1-3. But Disney has departed from the lore to chase identity politics by phase 4 and beyond, so Im completely done wasting my time & money on thess fake MCU projects. Not my Marvel anymore so I will continue to boycott until Disney goes bankrupt and sells the IP to people that respect the legacy characters and want to serve legacy fans.
If this is the case I won’t go to the theater to see it and debate whether I will see it streaming. Who puts Bucky through all that and not give him co-lead. Makes no sense. Marvel step up!
If Bucky is not given a MAJOR role in this film then I will not watch it PERIOD! He DESERVES to lead the team! He is the only one of them that shows the brilliance and cannonical need for true redemption! Bucky has always been my favorite, and Sebastian Stan my favorite actor for the way he can play a minimum of 3 personalities in one person the majority of the time just with his eyes and face. If he is not given this role I am done with MCU.
I’m done with Marvel if they downgrade Bucky like this. Honestly, he’s the only reason I’m even considering watching this movie, and if he’s just a cameo, I don’t see much of a point in going.
I agree 100% if Bucky is downgraded below co-lead (since he should be the lead), I think I’m through with Marvel. They better listen because I’ve seen some of my family and friends who were die hard Marvel fans have already left Marvel, I don’t want to become one of them.
Imagine having the power to make a badass movie, yet you choose to tank it. What is really going on? I’m not saying Yelena doesn’t deserve recognition, but the focus should be flipped. Bucky and Red Guardian dynamic should be the explored topic. Maybe Sentry will come in and just slaughter all of them and put us all out of our Misery. I give up if Bucky is downgraded. I suggest you all do to.
Considering all the backlash gone Disney and Marvel’s way, you would think they might have figured out applying woke politics at the expense of established, well loved characters is a bust. With James Gunns Guardians swan song being the exception, to both fiscal success and shoehorned woke messaging, and have marvel miss the message is astounding. I guess they haven’t lost enough money yet…for some reason, all the quality over quantity issues Feige keeps saying are going to be corrected are almost laughable, as he continues to ignore the voices of the majority of the ticket buying audience. I’d love to be wrong, but I’m thinking it’s gonna be at least two more flops from the once mighty MCU…Quality seems to have retired with Captain America and Ironman.
I am a long time Marvel fan, and the fact they keep changing things for the woke movement is frustrating, I am all about womens rights and civil rights but don’t change long standing Mavel characters, teams and themes just to show your hip with the times, that is a good way to lose devoted fans like me, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it
