There are lot of people that, when they see “affordable” housing, they immediately see “low income” housing…which immediately leads to lowering property values. It’s a shame it’s viewed like this; just because someone can’t afford $500,000+ for a home does not mean that they don’t want a nice home, and will keep it looking nice! I understand the mindset of the affluent, I just don’t agree with it. I’m not sure what the answer to the problem would be, it’s just such a shame that people can’t accept a mixed neighborhood.
I think they’re afraid the value on their million dollar mansions will go down. It’s needed, people working and living in Disney World area need housing, affordable housing. Apartments are part of that. I’m Sure it’ll look nice.
