The cast members were normally compensate you for your time or issues on a ride if you’re willing to take them aside privately and not make a big deal about it publicly.
We were on Test Track New Years Eve 2019 and the ride malfunctioned just before midnight. It was major , so we ended up getting walked out by cast members. The ride shut for the night.
We all were laughing and joking around that we broke the ride. Cast members loaded fast passes to our Magic bands and it seemed not to work properly so they gave up paper ones too.
Cast members were great , but as hinted by another no one gave an air of entitlement or being owed.
Why do you feel you’re entitled to handouts or freebies. Malfunctions happen from time to time it continues and you go on with your day. If they offer you fast passes great. From the sounds of it you never left the car so it was a very temporary stop. Was it even 30 seconds? Because Disney is an all-inclusive place did you think that maybe there was a handicap person that needed assistance getting on or off? There are rides that are temporarily stopped all day long to allow for handicap and other scenarios. There are definitely more people than just you and your entitlement.
We were in Disney world after Thanksgivng of 2023. We got stuck on the safari ride twice in one ride. The first time because an animal was blocking the trail and the second time one of the safari cars broke down. It was at least a half hour. We also got stuck on Mt. Everest for about ten minutes going backwards in the dark . That was kind of cool. Then we got stuck on Guardians in total darkness, kind of creepy. But we still had a good time.
I remember years back when “Space Mountain” was a new ride. Waited in a line for about an hour, got on the ride (finally) only to sit in the ride for another hour as it broke.
