I feel your pain. I see no problem with burning the American flag in a public setting, but some people just wanna be a pain in the neck about it and rain on my freedom of expression. So annoying.
If you mean someone who enjoys freedom of expression, then absolutely. It’s too bad you don’t support that.
Let’s focus on what we have in common, though: If I personally don’t have a problem with something, then others shouldn’t have a problem with it either. Just because they’re offended, it doesn’t make them right. Isn’t that how it works? Your initial comment seems to suggest that, so I guess so.
I appreciate the heads up there, “Stece.” Thank goodness all my flag burning is already done outside of Disney parks. *resumes munching popcorn with a giant smirk*
And I’d laugh as I watch you get arrested for impersonating a sports figure and dragged off the field by security. Hypothetical scenarios are fun to imagine, aren’t they?
In reality, though, good luck spotting me out in the wild. I live in a blue state that doesn’t frown on such behavior as long as it’s done safely, and besides, I’d be burning my own flag – my property – which I’m free to do. No amount of “Rick Monday”-ing will stop others from doing it all over the nation, as they are also free to do. But if you enjoy going around and interfering with people’s constitutional rights, then you do you, I guess. Just don’t mistake it for true patriotism.
Who said anything about running on to a sports field to stop someone from burning a flag? No one would be able to burn a flag on the field after what Monday did. And don’t think I wouldn’t stop you from burning a flag on your own property. Some do not have constitutional rights. You certainly don’t. Stopping someone from burning a flag and making someone stand for the anthem is patriotism.
Honestly, I am so sick of everyone being offended by everything, time to grow up and understand they u less something is intended to be offensive, we should t get offended.
Me too! Every time I turn around there’s a far right politician talking about how offended they are because a woman is making a decision, a black person works in their office, or a gay person simply exists! People need to stop getting offended!
It’s purpose is for kids to have fun and learn about animals. It’s been there for year’s. Anyone who is offended by it can opt out, like anything else at Disney or opt out of Disney. It’s a popular attraction that generates money. It’s called business!
I indiginous people don’t have sole claim to spirit animals. Many people of all races have beliefs that include meditation and connection with spirit guides, some who are animals, or even beings considered mythical creatures. This is their quest- to get to know their guides. Disney is right to show this connection, so others can find peace and guidance.
I see nothing wrong with Disney’s use of “Spirit Animal” in this fun area of exploration for kids.
Both of my (now grown) kids have been in that cave and were fascinated by their “personal” discoveries.
As other have said, if you don’t personally care for it, just opt out.
I’m getting quite tired of what’s happened to Disney, via the “personal agendas” of others.
I don’t see a problem as it provides native Americans the opportunity to share their culture. If disney didn’t make pocahontas then there would be complaints that way too. So tired about how everything is offensive.

Except you don’t have freedom of speech. Some are created more equal than others. You’re not welcome at Disney theme parks.

And if I caught you burning a flag I’d go Rick Monday on you like I’ve done to others.

It appears that the idea of just who owns the “spirit animal” moniker is now taken too far.

Unless something is designed to make you sick, tired and fed up, you shouldn’t get sick, tired and fed up. It’s time you grew up and understood that.

Examples please.

BS nope. How about an end to the easily offended/triggered nonsense without bashing others?
Not-a-sheep
I’m sure once they find a gay or trans or black native american to complain, Disney will be all over it.
Dodger
You say that like it’s a BAD thing.

Totally agree. Anyone can identify with a Spirit Animal. Do not have to be a Native American. All are entitled to their own beliefs!
