It’s Tokyo Disney revamping their Space Mountain. It will close mid 2024 and reopen 2027.

The Tokyo Disney Resort can do what they want. It isn’t an official park, they just pay for all the licensing. Which is why Tomorrowland is “retro”. And why the DisneySea park has so many different things than the other parks, including other characters. It’s also why they still have Song of the South for Splash Mountain. It will be interesting for sure to see what they do with Space Mountain.

    1. Space Mountain is haunted by at least two ghosts having been experienced by guests. Mr. Oneway is a male presence that has been seen getting onboard a coaster for a ride. My theory is that he’s able to manifest in the attraction by using static electricity created by the crowd of people moving quickly to the launch pad area. The Walt Disney Company has reimagined numerous attractions after they’ve been known to have paranormal activity and a portal to the spirit world in Tomorrowland is the problem, not Space Mountain.

Disney has been a company for a hundred years but in the theme park industry, with the opening of Disneyland, since 1955. That first paragraph may need reworked.

I know the closure is in Tokyo, but please leave Space Mountain alone. There is nothing wrong with it.

Seriously?! Seriously?! they’re going to close space Mountain permanently?? that is effed up. They don’t need to be making all these changes. Hey inger— great job at destroying Disney.

Bob Iger has no control over the Tokyo park, Vixen. Stop scapegoating.

I sincerely do hope that our US Disney Resorts retain our Space Mountain, so we can continue to enjoy what is still one of the top attractions in the park. It was the first ride I experienced on my very first visit, to WDW, in June, 1977. And I still love it as much today as I did on that first day.

To remove it from our parks would be an insult to our WDW ‘founding fathers’.

  10. It is traditional, and I love it but sometimes sometimes I do wish they would Perk it up a little
