Ahead of an expensive Disneyland Resort vacation, knowing if any areas of the Disney theme parks are shut down is essential. Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney list all planned restaurant, attraction, and entertainment closures on their website and the Disneyland Resort app.
Guests can plan around these closures, scheduling visits around their favorite attractions and experiences. But how do Disneyland Resort guests react when multiple unexpected closures happen in just a few days?

Multiple Disneyland Resort locations shut down for hours at a time this week as the merchandise team filmed advertisements for their 2024 collection. Disney Parks guests recounted their experiences with the photoshoots on social media.
TikToker @chelsea.sue shared a video of the models, photographers, and crew filming near Space Mountain:

“This just in!!” the guest wrote. “Disney 2024 merch coming soon!”
In the video, a large Tomorrowland area is completely shut off to guests, including some kind of queue. The models are wearing unreleased Disneyland Resort clothing, and Minnie Mouse ears marked “2024.”
Other Disneyland Resort guests reported the photoshoot series impacting their visits.

“They were all over the park yesterday!” said @stephaniemsuarez.
“I saw them in front of the castle yesterday!!” @mally_mouse wrote.
One guest alleged that the photoshoot shut down Space Mountain, though that report is unconfirmed. Like most Disney attractions, Space Mountain breaks down frequently due to mechanical issues or guest misbehavior.

“Is this why space was down randomly for a few hours today?” @catondelrosario asked.
As for the 2024 merchandise, well… most Disney Parks fans weren’t impressed.
“Already don’t like them,” @yadiraa.salas commented.

“There has never been a cute color scheme for the annual merch ever,” @reesemeyerr agreed. “It’s always ugly.”
“When will disney in america step up their merch game?” @crescenthoshi asked.
Still, a few Disney Parks fans were excited about next year’s souvenir options.

“Wow they look so nice!!!” @mjcarri08 wrote.
“THE SHIRT I NEED HER,” said @braxswag.
Historically, Walt Disney World Resort has received the same annual merchandise designs as Disneyland Resort, with slight differences to distinguish between Disney Parks. With the new collection coming soon, savvy shoppers can check out Disney’s Character Warehouse for discounted 2023 souvenirs!
