Disney owns and operates multiple theme parks with locations all around the world. While the most popular destinations here in North America are Walt Disney World and Disneyland, there are several stunning places to visit internationally as well. This list includes Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. While each theme park experience is unique in its own way, guests will still be able to find all of the classic and iconic Disney attractions at these locations, like Pirates of the Caribbean, “it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and Haunted Mansion.

Arguably, Disney’s best theme park is actually located at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort, which recently upgraded how guests enter its gates.

If you have ever been to a Disney theme park before, then you know the drill. Before you can do anything, you must scan your ticket and walk through metal detectors. These extra security measures were implemented several years ago and were added in order to keep guests that much safer. Guests with bags or strollers will need to enter through their own line, where security officers thoroughly check their belongings.

The system works similarly in other Disney resorts, with the Tokyo Disneyland Resort actually making some major changes to how guests experience this process. Now, guests walk through new pillars that scan items.

Video of this new technology in action has been shared online, which you can watch down below.

As you can see, guests walk through new scanners that automatically scan their luggage, theoretically speeding up the park entry process. Recently, thousands of guests could be seen eagerly awaiting their turn to enter the Tokyo Disneyland Resort, showing once again just how dedicated fans of the Tokyo Disneyland Resort truly are.

The Tokyo Disney Resort is comprised of two parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

In 2022, the Tokyo Disneyland Resort announced that its version of Space Mountain would be closing soon in order to make way for an all-new experience for Guests to enjoy. Space Mountain will be completely rebuilt, along with the entirety of the Tomorrowland section of the Park. Space Mountain will be closing in 2024 permanently, with the new version of both the ride and land expected to reopen in 2027. The massive project will cost an estimated 56 billion Yen ($438 million USD).
