The Disneyland Resort is comprised of two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Each one of these parks features an incredible assortment of rides, attractions, and magical experiences, ranging from embarking on swashbuckling adventures with pirates to shopping for exclusive and amazing merchandise. There are several incredible lands guests can explore, such as classics like Fantasyland and Tomorrowland or new and immersive story-driven areas like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. These lands are what makes Disneyland so special, allowing guests to get lost in their own stories. Guests can also do some serious shopping and dining at Downtown Disney.

While the big attractions are the main draw of the Disney theme parks, one of our favorite things to do either at Disneyland or Walt Disney World is to stop by our favorite spot and just take it all in. The Disney theme parks are huge and packed with incredible amounts of detail, so we encourage all guests to take a moment and “smell the roses.”

Speaking of roses, there’s a fantastic spot that guests can relax in, although this spot will not be open for much longer.

At the Sorcerors Workshop in Disney California Adventure, guests are invited by Disney to “Discover how Disney animators bring some of your favorite characters to life.” The Beast’s Library is part of this experience, offering guests a chance to step into the world of Beauty and the Beast (1991). “Enter a chamber modeled after the Beast’s secret library from Beauty and the Beast and interact with an enchanted book to discover which Disney character your personality most resembles,” states Disney on its official website.

Guests will not find this location on any official Disneyland park map, making it that much more special. This area is considered to be a hidden gem in the Disneyland Resort community and is one of our favorite places to swing by.

Unfortunately, we have some sad news regarding this space. As part of the expansion of the Disney Imagination Campus, Beast’s library will be converted into a new space used for various events and activities.

“Through our unique curriculum and learning environment, we are committed to fostering creative thinking, fearless exploration and, of course, Disney magic,” states Disney when describing the Imagination Campus. “It is our mission to provide students with the tools they need to express themselves creatively and academically and to prepare them for real-world challenges.”

This change has been confirmed by Disney itself, who updated the website sometime earlier this week. Disney states that the Imagination Campus will use the space formerly known as Beast’s Library moving forward, indicating this is a permanent change.

As you can see, fans were quick to call out Disney for closing such a treasured space. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a part of a Disney theme park, especially one as cool and richly detailed as Beast’s Library. Public access to Beast’s Library will end on December 10, with Disney Imagination Campus taking over the spot on December 15, 2023.

We’re incredibly sad to see this spot go and hope that a similar spot will be created by Disney for guests.

Will you miss this special space? Where’s your favorite spot to relax inside the Disney theme parks?
