Splash Mountain is based on an OLD film that nobody under 65 has ever seen. Brer Rabbit & company were just animals on a water ride to generations of visitors. . . Whereas, PotC came out in ‘67 & was famous on it’s own, and Jack Sparrow emerged from the ride. I think it’s petty if Disney to ruin a perfectly good ride, based on a fictional character THEY CREATED. Why “cut off your nose to spite your face”? Leave well enough alone. People don’t have trouble suspending reality on all the rides at WDW, why ruin/get rid of one of your best?!?!?
As to JD returning to play Jack again? Time will tell.
Deal with DeSantos, then worry about fictional characters. . . Priorities, people!!!!
No one under 65 has seen Song of the South? Want to tell that to my kids? You are wrong and Splash Mountain is NOT closed. It is open in both US parks and will be so for both WDW’s 75th and Disneyland’s centennial. And Jack Sparrow is getting removed from Pirates with both versions being restored to their original 1967 and 1973 respective selves.

It’ll be a miracle if he does, since he’s left Hollywood and not going back
