I highly doubt his legacy will be erased. Gene Wilder was never erased. They were both legendary in their roles as Wonka. This is a prequel, not really a best idea to use Depp to play a young version of Wonka.
This cancel culture crap is getting out of hand, It’s scary how if you don’t align with how Hollywood wants you to be they just kill your career . Unless the person is a pedophile or a genuinely bad person who cares about their business or personal beliefs. It’s just entertainment not real life Johnny Depps personal life doesn’t effect me so why is he losing roles ? He’s an entertainer not a politician. I will still watch his movies because I like his acting .I don’t care about his personal life.
