Seems this disgruntled animator has an axe to grind. Maybe couldn’t get a job with Disney or Pixar. Disney knows exactly what they’re doing. Every one crapped on Little Mermaid and it made half a billion dollars. Wish will do just fine. Disney will keep on doing what they’re doing, and the world will be a better place for them.

      Agreed

      You tell him pal!

    3. Matthew

Yeah, Disney knows what they’re doing. That’s why they lost over a billion dollars in the last year.

      1. Drew

Solid point. If it weren’t for the parks they would be in serious trouble, not just circling the drain

They’re actually starting to lose money on their parks since Disney world is nolonger exempt from taxes…

People have been fuming at how disney has been handling their animation. Wish is advertised as their “centry in the making movie” yet we have had 1 trailer for it since July/August. And they went to make AI made promo art for it. Its not gonna to well

Milo, I thought “The Little Mermaid” was a live action remake and not animated? Regardless 567 million is the thinnest of break even margins for the movie. The production budget is listed at 250 million with an additional 140 million for marketing. Since that 567 million doesn’t all come back to Disney, a fifty fifty split with the theaters, and don’t forget taxes, makes it unlikely that the movie turned a profit. Even if it does turn a profit it will be by a razor thin margin.
I have no idea if it’s a good movie or not, but compared to Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, it was in fact a dismal failure. Disney’s recent losses and pitiful stock prices should call into question, if in fact, they “know what they’re doing.”

Half a billion is a flop for movies with such high budgets. The only movie I’m aware that was a meaningful success this year was Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Firstly Asha is not a princess, so that is in no way repetitive of other disney films with princesses. Secondly the movements look very much life like and it should notice not everything or everyone in life moves smooth as silk.

    That’s a lie!

I love all Disney movies and including the remakes too and I was and still a Disney and I always will be and yes I am true Disney fan and as they always say is a wish that your makes

Cell shaded animation? What is this Zelda Breath of the Wild? It indeed looks like something that belongs on Disney Junior. The villain is the only hope with more captivation in 3 seconds than the entire rest of the trailer. Will it make money? Sure. But is it the Disney savior that will signal Disney Animation Renaissance 3.0. I see nothing to suggest the animation is even worth any admiration. Of course, some people argue that video games can have subpar graphics and still be fun and enjoyable like Atari and Nintendo. This would certainly be strong evidence of this thesis if it actually does well.

You know, it isn’t.a fact that people are “Disney aficionados” but more that in the past decade, people have become more “personally demanding” and entitled to have things done exactly as they want it. If it doesn’t meet their demands, become agitated and turn to social media slandering, to generate the hate that is just waiting to lash out.
If you notice, these rabid fans don’t even give things a chance, but instead act like they’re experts at everything, before it even is presented fully. Sadly, this is what these people want. Others to agree with their opinion, justifying their thoughts. Sad that people can’t think for themselves anymore. Nor that they can’t accept change in an ever changing world.
I’ve seen many of these so called “failures” that Disney has created, and as a long time Disney fan (over 40 years), I don’t see the incredibly huge flaws that are spread like wildfires over the internet. As I’ve noticed, it’s people that are overly demanding and will criticize harshly anything that is even an inch beyond their desires. It makes me slightly depressed that this is how the world acts now, and can’t simply see things created for what they are. Entertainment and fantasy.

It’s not about entertainment any more. It’s about virtue signaling. Hypocritical, though, as they keep raising prices and cutting quality. Diversity should be economically inclusive, too.

  6. that is pure baloney

wish will bomb and not be enough to last through the winter (deserves rereleases of SOUL, LUCA, and Turning red that were left out of last summer’s disney100 rereleases) for 11/7/23 (4 year anniversary of SOUL’s first trailer), LUCA on 12/14/23, and Turning Red on 1/24/24 respectively now elio got delayed room for them and delay wish to 3/1/24 right now despite having only 20 days remaining and already having tickets booked (was done with gran turismo with only 14 days left)

People need to relax and stop making judgements before seeing the actual movie. I personally think the animation style looks intriguing and different. It’s not “unfinished” it was definitely an intentional style.

  9. Li

Well this might be their last wish

    1. Benjamin Margulies

My “wish” is for disney to give SOUL, luca and turning red theatrical rereleases right now (11/7/23, 12/13/23, and 1/24/24 and delay wish by 100 days to 3/1/24 despite being 20 days away (tickets were already booked for gran turismo, which was 2 weeks away when it was delayed by 2 weeks same can be done with WISH, delayed to 12/8/23). that way, pixar’s mistakes of dumping them on disney+ can be repaired and they can make money at the box office. DISNEY must make that decision NOW exactly 2330 hours after SONY delayed Gran turismo to make room for SOUL rerelease on 11/7/23, 12/25/23, and 2/1/24 respectively with 5, 53, and 90 days notice given NOW exactly 1120 days after SOUL got dumped to streaming since these 3 pixar movies are much better than WISH
