I believe there’s more to it. Many superhero movies have come and have disappeared into obscurity without notice. I think Marvel deserves more credit here. They didn’t just choose actors to play characters. The actors they meticulously chosen, have brought these characters to life, like few others before. Think of how well Christian Bale was received as the Dark Knight. Now think of that caliber of casting for multiple characters in the same movie (or series of movies). Viola!
