Huh. Well, we won’t see much until after the strikes, which are most important. It’s more than just pay; it protects actors from having their likeness/voices used by AI and honestly same with the writing. AI writing is… not fun. I wonder if I’m reading it half the time on ITM. That said, The Last of Us on HBO turned out amazing, so I’d be curious to see what this guy came up with. I’ve gotten to be pretty neutral on the matter of whether Depp comes back or not; realistically, I don’t think he wants to, much as I love Jack Sparrow. I do love a good pirates movie, though (granted, I also didn’t see the last one).
Having “Pirates 6” without Captain Jack is like having Alice in Wonderland without Alice. It won’t work well without Johnny Depp’s character holding it all together. If Disney go ahead without Jack Sparrow they’ll be setting themselves up for a very, very expensive fall.
If it doesn’t have Depp, I’ll wait until it comes out on the Disney+app. Depps Iconic character is what makes me watch the whole series of movies on Disney+ every year.
