Yes..I love Max and it’s content. I’d definitely keep the service. Why subscribe to three, four other services that have some of DCs contents when i could get the whole Shabang under Max. It’s a no-brainer to me…🤷🏾♂️
I’m not sure I would pay to subscribe to MAX. I have it for “Free” from my cable company because HBO is included in my community’s cable contract. When WB merged with Discovery a ton of programming was not included from Discovery. I’d rather pay $5/month for Discovery only than whatever MAX is charging now per month.
DC content is the reason I got HBO Max and have kept it for this long. The new leadership has completely destroyed the streaming platform, and I see no reason to continue paying when the media I care about is gone.
I’m not really that interested in DC content, so that isn’t a big factor. I’ll likely be canceling Max now that “And Just Like That” has concluded. At least until another series comes out that I’m interested in. Maybe wait for Barbie.
We get MAX for free with our HBO subscription. I used to have DC Universe which I really enjoyed because they had The Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves.
I understand that Bruce Timm’s new animated Batman Adventures will also become a property of Amazon Prime, as well.
Hope DC gets back to basics, respects their 85 year legacy and core audience and gets back on their feet.
The fact that these films are on other platforms doesn’t bother me, what does is the Duscovery content on Max. Max is a pay service so the decision to load it up with Discovery Channel content was a mistake.
The author is obviously biased you can see that from the first sentence. Zaslov made a good choice on canning Batgirl if it going to be a horrible flop. Remember Catwoman with Haley Barry, yeah we don’t either.
Honestly, I don’t watch HBO for DC. They have other content that I love. Do I see their demise? Yes, unless they get their act together and stop trying to be what their not. Nobody will be Netflix but Netflix. Why change their name? What’s wrong with just HBO. Its synonymous with amazing original programming and was around a long time before Netflix. I will watch DC wherever, same as Marvel. Enjoy the movies of both competitors but I don’t care which service they are on. HBO, get it together, because I know your main competitor will happily take over your original shows that people love.
I have Amazon prime, so no I wouldn’t. I also have Paramount+ and Apple TV. I’m a DC fan and I hate that Marvel’s movies are better, but that’s because the content of the movies are basically the same premise. If Warner Bros. would take some storylines from the comics maybe they would be more successful.
I had yet to see Black Adam and was anxiously awaiting it’s arrival to one of the few streaming platforms that I am able to afford, even after cutting cable.
While eagerly jumping onto Amazon Prime on Thursday night, hoping to see the start of the NFL regular season, I was to be bitterly disappointed to find Amazon wasn’t covering that season opening game.
I did find Black Adam, as well as most of the other recent DC movies newly available for me to watch.
Regardless of the reviews, I was extremely anxious to watch Black Adam, but that anticipation quickly turned to bitter disappointment once the movie started. The highly pixelated poor video quality reminded me of the days when I was downloading movies from ‘PirateBay’.
Amazon succeeded in letting me down twice in one day, which was a first.
I already subscribe to Max and it’s not for the DC content. They also have South Park, Big Bang Theory, Regular Show and others that I enjoy that aren’t anywhere else.
Personally, with HBO Max being one of the best streaming service around I was shocked that HBO would sell it off. If its true that they’re already having financial issues I guess its just a matter of time before they either try to do an overhaul or drop it all together. How sad.

Prepping WB to be sold again. Its fourth. Or is it the fifth?

If I can get my DC fix from Prime, then MAX is useless to me.

The only thing wrong with Warners Brothers Discovery is David Zaslav. The man is a cancer and needs to be excised like the tumor he is.

Yep, almost destroyed TCM….

When it comes to big movies they should be available on all platforms.
How ever original series and a large catalog of content is what the real draw is?
If you don’t have more attractive content then your competitors at a really good deal to your customers…then what is even the point?

This guy is like Typhoid Mary, whatever he touches he leaves in ruins….yet he still has play in the industry

Max is constantly in a state of glitch. I love DC content, but it’s a headache. Max is free with Direct TV. That’s the only plus.

Nothing is worth watching. They keep doing readaptation of the same contents until you get sick of it. No originality anymore.
David
They should have left well enough alone and just left it HBO Max. It was the best of the services and they’ve screwed it up.
