Henry Cavill should have been James Bond instead of Daniel Craig. To me Craig was terrible. Henry has the natural finesse to play 007. If they had chosen him initially there’s a chance they wouldn’t be looking now and wasting a lot of time and money.

Well the Death of 007, finally The Broccoli’s went against Mr. Fleming’s rule that each bond picks his successor, and have monkey branched 007 enough to finally screw up the Franchise. 007 had it’s day, now it’s time to move on to a newer spy franchise, Henry Cavill is a great choice.
Pierce Brosnan was the Best 007, and still wanted to do it when the Broccoli’s Fired him. For a Darker 007, they really screwed up on that, so I don’t watch 007 anymore since Brosnan got the sack, to me it ended with him. Now is the time of Henry Cavill.
I agree Brosnan was best at it but recheck your sources he wasn’t fired he quit. He said he was getting too old to meet the demands required of him on set. He didn’t want to do Die Another Day but was practically begged to come back cause they didn’t have another Bond ready.
Story goes pretty much every Bond actor quits for almost the same reason. Even Craig said filming on set is rough that he received several injuries doing each film.
I agree he’d make a great one, but the trailer? I like the idea he’s showing the ptb that he’s had the chops to do this role since they said no to him. This and Highlander are the two movies I’m really looking forward to 🙂

I think it’s a bit too early to rival Henry Cavill’s new spy franchise, up against a 60 year, historically successful Ian Fleming/Bond franchise. First, the Fleming/Bond franchise has outlived 8 different actors and 28 movies (25 Eon productions and 3 “also rans”), totaling over $7 Billion (yes, that’s BILLION, with a capital “B”) …. The 29th project will soon to go into production, with a 9th thespian taking the reins of the new, (“that’s Bond … James Bond) character. So while I sincerely hope that Mr. Cavill can provide us with a new Spy character that captures the world’s attention and drives audiences into the theaters; with it’s own franchise of feature films that marvel the action and sophistication that only a James Bond film can provide ……. it will take a few years to prove, that this new formula will bring about the same success that we’ve all come to expect in a Bond film …. I’d say about 60 years would be about right!
As a reader of the original Fleming books, I would love to see the originals re-done with all new (unproven) actors in all roles with Bond…..James Bond being as closely described by his creator as possible. He doesnt have to be bulky or super handsome but definitely must be British. Not Scottish (sorry S.C. fans, Roger Moore was the best) !
