You can catch covid just about anywhere you go. If your worried about catching it then take the proper precautions to protect yourself and your family. How do you 100% know you caught it at Disneyworld anyway?? If you flew you could of gotten it from the airport and it took a few days to show symptoms. There is countless ways these people could of gotten covid before getting to Disneyworld and took a few days for symptoms to appear.
Just got back from WDW. Our family caught Covid for the first time and spent 5 days in our hotel room.
In hindsight, WDW might be one of the worst places anywhere to catch a respiratory disease. Consider that:
1) They attract people from all over the world, so wherever a disease is surging, there will be people coming from there.
2) They attract large numbers of kids who, being kids, naturally catch more colds.
3) For a variety of reasons, people do not cancel their trips to WDW even if they’re sick.
4) Because they’re on vacation, people are less likely to wear masks.
5) People are forced to wait in long queues in poorly ventilated indoor passageways to get on rides.
6) Disney doesn’t discount hotel rooms if you want to extend your trip to avoid infecting people on your flight home, so people get on the planes coughing.
Not much Disney can do about 1-4, but shame on them for not doing something about 5 and 6 in this era of Covid. Virtual queues would be so much safer not to mention more enjoyable. And improve the airflow in those long passageways! And come on Disney, how about a little break for the families that choose to rebook their flights and pay for additional hotel nights to avoid spreading Covid?

COVID is airborne. Wear a tight-fitting N95 mask to reduce the odds of being infected.
