Disney world’s core guests from all over the country and the world deserve the same break as Florida residents! We have added expenses of travel and lodging….give us the same break or attendance will keep going down! Disney is pricing itself into ruin. I’m coming in Oct
With my children and grandchildren from New York and Conn. Why don’t we deserve the same prices??? Shame on you Disney World!

Frankly who cares about Florida residents? I have several friends in Florida, all in the Orlando area. None of them go to Disney and they don’t know anyone who goes. They all look at it like any of us look at the local mall, been there done that 100 times. Those of us that loyally go from out of state however are getting beat up on ticket prices. I just paid over $400 for 2 park hopper tickets and they still have the audacity to limit park hopping until after 2p and if you start at any park other than Hollywood Studios, you can’t ride rise of the resistance that day. I understand they needed measures during peak COVID, but we’ve managed to beat covid into a basic cold like disease now and park attendance is at an all time low. I used to start my mornings at Epcot each day, because I enjoy breakfast at the bakery in Paris. They need to lower pricing a little and make it up other places. Let’s be honest, once your in the park you’ll happily spend $10 on a bottle of water or $20 on a snack.

That’s WHY they’re making deals for Florida. They want to get repeat visits from people who may not otherwise go, and sweeten the attitude of locals towards Disney. Food prices sounds crazy BTW, if I ever went I’d bring my own snacks and water bottle.

Agreed. The park limits will change January 2024… too late for my annual family visit.

    3. Orlando has just as many Disney fans as anywhere else, probably more. The problem for Disney is there’s just not enough people there. Every other Disney park is in a metro area with over ten million people. Orlando is a quarter that size. Disney is trying hard to sweeten the pot so locals will show up.
By the way, Disney doesn’t really want locals in the park. They don’t stay in on site hotels. They spend far less on food and souvenirs than out of town guests. They only offer these deals to locals when the park is slow.

Disney went woke and now they will go broke. No one is interested in DEI, while trying to enjoy what was ONCE the most magical place on earth.

  4. I think Disney needs to make many more changes!

Why can’t we see comments? Unless I post one I can not read any one else’s posts

It’s great that they are trying to build up the parks, however they should look at their main attendees for ticket prices. What about DVC members. Technically we own a piece of the resort which makes us property owners. Do we get Florida resident rates? We pay property tax in our dues.

    1. Denise

You are so right! I am tired as a DVC member not receiving any perks at all! We are so fed up we just might sell our DVC shares! We pay a lot of money for maintenance every year and not one perk for us. Shameful

What about people who aren’t Florida residents? I have always been a big fan, I even got married there. But the increasing prices are making my husband and I rethink visiting every year. The magic is lost to us a bit having to fly down from Canada and then paying an arm and a leg just to get in the gate. It would be lovely if they had similar deals for people who don’t live in Florida.

I used to go all the time and take the family but we just quit going. It’s not worth the price you pay anymore. I bought a boat for what one trip to Disney cost. Tickets are too much and food is too much

That sounds like a great idea give people smaller portions at restaurants because spending $30 for food and getting less is what people want. How about you lower the prices to get in. That will bring more people! I can almost understand the higher prices for food and hotels but I shouldn’t have to pay almost $200 per person to get in! I went to Disney World maybe 20 years ago and my ticket was maybe $20 you can’t tell me inflation is the reason for that much of a price increase. How about the president and some of the other higher ups take a price cut? They don’t need 8 million a year or whatever it is. I bet everything the ticket prices go up so does their pay checks.

Go back to the way it was no hassles, let people buy a hopper and hop the parks with no limits. Get rid of genie, fast pass was easier to use. Lower the prices, get the magical express back. It costs about $5k for me to come on the cheap with 4 people then you want me to Uber? I can’t justify the expense.

Agreed! We just spent 6 days at the wilderness lodge and it cost us nearly 8k and we took our own food and onky ate out twice. But reviewing our receipts found we were over charged both places. The park was packed. We couldn’t ride any of the new main attractions because there was no stand-by or lightning lanes avaikable. It was very disappointing. Rides were closed, lines were outrageous. Florida residents discount tickets are great for them, but we are the ones driving and flyingcat high costs and staying at hotels to go.

I just bought 5 adult, one child, four day park hopper…
    $5280… ouch!

  14. Is this something new in Orlando? Disneyland has been doing this for many years. Sometimes it’s all California residents. Other times its only for Southern California. Two day passes. Three day passes. Passes that are only good on weekdays. They offer them during the slow times of the year.

  15. Hbapt

I looked at their pixie pass and it would be over $2000 for my family. I can’t afford it at this time. The 4-days is okay except I don’t have over $1000 either. I would rather visit 1 day for $59. Even that’s a stretch once you factor all of us, parking, and food.. Sea World and Busch give better deals. I can afford to visit them once a year. But the prices at Disney are too much. They always have a broke ride too. For as much money as it’s costs, the rides should work and the food should be amazing.

What about us out of state AP holders? The cost for me to come with 1 child 4 times a year has finally priced me out unless that AP price gets discounted.

Don’t be too quick to dismiss locals. Many may have moved here specifically to be near the parks. I know I did. We attend frequently and we spend plenty on food, events/mementos and home decor. And we support the local economy.
