A “Spooky Tree Flight” souvenir cup arrived at Disneyland Resort’s Carthay Circle last weekend… and Disney resellers aren’t happy.
For $89, Disney California Adventure Park guests can indulge in three alcoholic beverages served in poison apple cups. The drinks sit on a resin spooky tree, modeled after the one in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). They include a Crown Royal Regal Apple Flavored Whisky, Sour Apple Pucker, and a mixed drink with cranberry juice.

At the end of the meal, guests receive a new-in-box version of the Spooky Tree Flight serving set to take home. But they’re limited to two per guest… a policy that infuriates Disney resellers.
Reddit user u/DigDug_Doug witnessed an entire table try to bargain with a Disney Cast Member.
“Y’all need to chill with the spooky trees @Carthay,” the guest wrote. “The cast members who have to work there look like they’re dead inside. Please be kinder to them.”

“I got one to take home, the table next to me was trying to get the server to sell them extras,” they continued. “She said she could sell them 8 (there were 4 people in their party) and they were like please oh please we want 10. What the heck y’all. Chill seriously.”
Reddit user u/dynamine also witnessed desperate resellers purchasing multiple Spooky Tree Flight sets.
“Watching the groups with several sets apiece last week was fairly gross,” they recalled. “One set? Cool! You’re a collector, too. Group of 4, with 2 sets each? I hate you, you Mercari bastard.”

“I don’t care how others feel about it, I feel like this kind of behavior ruins the parks for everyone else,” said u/amillionparachutes. “No one needs 10 of anything at Disney unless it’s water bottle refills. Get your one and leave some there for other people to enjoy. And leave the cast members alone.”
“They’re doing their very best but I constantly see guests asking them to bend the rules for them to ‘make magic’ and I’m sick of it,” they continued. “Cast members shouldn’t have to be put in uncomfortable situations and magic moments that are demanded are not magic moments they’re you-have-entitlement-issues moments. There’s such a lack of consideration lately and it’s sad to see.”

Despite the outrage, the strict purchase limit hasn’t stopped all merchandise resellers. One Spooky Tree Flight set is currently listed on eBay for $319.
