Something needs done. All these companies seem to be merging these days and Apple is an extremely successful company so why not and if it can save Disney from some of the not so great projects released and be able to take back its reigns then go for it.
Holy crap the only thing Lasseter has released at Skydance was Luck, a year ago. Remember Luck?
No you don’t because it got terrible reviews and was completely mid.
The constant “Apple should buy Disney” online wankery is bad enough, please don’t contribute to it by pretending Lasseter has any gas left in his tank.
Apple has the banked cash to float out Disney and can get Lassiter back into the company. It really does seem like it’s the only way to save Disney. What it boils down to is Disney needs to take care of how they are making movies, they are just in this churn out a substandard planned stories and rehashed stories one after another. Stop the messaging in the stories and just make a good story that everyone can enjoy.
Saying that disney merging or being sold to apple is “animations last hope” is a joke.
Disney is far from the only animation studio, and they are even farther from the best. Sony Animations seems to be on a winning path ever since Spider-verse, they have made success after success. They pushed the animation industry to hights it had never even thought of being with the new style introduced with Spider-verse.
Disney is just sitting in the corner making painfully average film after painfully average film, and isnt even marketing them at that. And saying that it is because Lasseter left is also a joke, he directed fricken Cars 2! He is also an incel.
What i’m trying to say is, disney can go rot, they have no interest in making powerful stories anymore, and the public is waking up to that.
The way Apple charges for its stuff no one will be afford them . I don’t trust apple.
Also, Disney has made way to much money for this to be true.
Yes, there have been some “less” then Steller movies but this happened before, after the “Black Cauldron” wasn’t a instant hit ( didn’t make Millions in 80’s money) but now its a “classic”. I would rather have Disney be the standard compared to others.
