Rode “The Beast” roller coaster one time…that’s once in my life. It was unforgettable. As we reached the back end of the ride where it makes a u-turn and heads home we saw the tracks in flames! We went right thru those flames and the ride stopped just as the last car cleared those flames. At this point the cars are about 30 feet above the ground. Everyone was forced to climb down the structure to the ground. This was immediate as the flames were building and moving towards the stopped train! No one died, but several had minor burns from that trip thru about a 25 to 30 foot stretch of flaming tracks. We later learned that sensors had detected the problem and stopped the train, very close to the fire for those in the last cars on the train. I took it as an omen and never rode again.
Kings Island is an awesome park and I am so glad I live close enough to go on a regular basis! Like all parks, there are always a few issues but if you outweigh the family friendly fun to the few problems they may have, it is all worth the trip.
I have ridden The Beast many times and am constantly following all kinds of stories about it and never have I ever heard of this story. Please if you could can you post some proof about this as I know there would have to be some.
