If she can’t handle the trip she can’t handle the trip. I had cancer and had to use a wheelchair, not a problem but I did have people look at me up and down wondering why I had the chair. The cast members where wonderful it was the guests. Finding a bathroom is easy finding one pty is another thing. She can’t cut in line there. It’s not the young girls fault but the whole family shouldn’t have to not go. Maybe when she can get it more under control she can go then.
You’re just as ignorant as this step father and mother. Need a break? Seriously? She is a child that they are responsible for. She has a disease that if you have never had you don’t understand. I have it. Have hadit it most of my life. You are grumpy, light headed from not eating g bc no appetite and from having diarrhea constantly. She is also probably bleeding intermittently. All of these characteristics are side effects from the disease. She is a child and doesn’t understand what is happening to her body. Yes I understand bc I’ve had it for a long time and also I’m an ICU nurse. I still had to learn about the disease. They are abandoning her when she needs their guidance and support. Shame on them and shame on you. You don’t leave your child bc she needs medical assistance. A responsibility comes with having children. You don’t pass them of bc you can’t handle it. She can’t either.
Thank you for this. I’m on the YTA side because parents of seriously terminally ill children do this every day. Her disease is manageable, or would be IF YOU PUT THE EFFORT INTO SUPPORT instead of apparently blaming a child for her illness. I feel for this poor girl; it seems as if both her mother (shame on her) and stepdad aren’t getting/giving her the help she needs.
Shame on you for leaving her behind. It’s not her fault she’s sick. Why should she be punished for something that she cannot control. Why not take a family vacation somewhere that is more suitable for her. You can always revisit the Disney trip once she gets her disease under better control. How would you feel if the situation was reversed as you were the one being left behind while the rest of the family was going to Disney?
Sad the dad chose a vacation without a child all because he didn’t want to deal with here illness. I find this inexcusable for any parent to do this. It would be different if she were bedridden and couldn’t go, but because she has a medical illness that take time to care for her on a daily basis isn’t an excuse for leaving her behind. Maybe dad is looking for a ‘free trip’ back to Disney with her and sympathy. What dad did is inexcusable and a big ‘shame n you dad’ for abandoning a child for your selfish leisure at Disneyland.

Good for you! I totally agree with you. Shame on her parents and shame on those who agree with them.
