I’m honestly a little puzzled by this. Where the information is coming from I have no idea, but I cannot imagine Dave Filoni ignoring the concept that Obi-Wan’s story ends not with him as a relatively young former Jedi master, but as an old mentor to Luke Skywalker.
I am not going to rant and rave because there’s no point; I would check your sources. I really would, because either of those outcomes, in the wider arc of the Star Wars narrative, is just bad storytelling, plain and simple, and Dave Filoni is not a bad storyteller.
You make it sound like this will change canon & they’ll kill Kenobi off. That’s not what this is. It’ll be like a vision or something similar to show Ahsoka that Anakin couldn’t be saved. Ewan is not in this. The scene with the corpse wasn’t him, it was a dummy. Dave has no control if they bring him back or not, but this doesn’t affect Kenobi’s story.
Not a smart decision Disney!!
Why would you axe the story of a central figure in the Star Wars universe… do you know how long you could drag that story out and how many different avenues you could take it- whilst maintaining a robust viewership?

Ok, so Disney is going to retcon every Star Wars movie they didn’t produce in order to remove Obi Wan? They’d like that wouldn’t they.
Kennedy once stated Star Wars didn’t need the Force or Jedi, the result was TLJ. Sounds like Disney wants to coup de gras the whole thing.
They might as well go ahead and do this, too.
Disney has ruined the mainstream Star Wars concept since TFA…
I mean, anything less would be far too subtle for certain “persons” in charge, (who appear to suffer from severe memory loss and brain damage ) concerning the most significant, centralized, heroic character that the base story has revolved around.
So Disney, know how to please your audience!
Naive idea, Right?

Sounds terrible just like everything else Disney Wars.
Leslie Robertson
Agreed. It’s a thing called plot armor.
Shane
Surely this can’t be true.
Fans get up set over “who shot first”.
This would start riots.
Qui-Gon Nof
Star Wars died when Disney bought it. They’ve released nothing compelling and have only tarnished what was once the greatest franchise.
D
Not true I think it died in 2019
