SeaWorld has offered this for a couple of years and has been wildly successful there at bringing more guests in that wouldn’t normally come to such an event. Personally, my one wish is that they would have had such an option when they had the hanging, as I would have gone to see the hanging, but I don’t care for getting scared.
This really does give people who may want something slightly tamer or that really doesn’t like getting completely scared an option, especially if they want to go with friends and family.
It also allows those who do want to get scared the option to do so and all will be the same for them as before.
I never understood how having options is a bad thing, my one issue with this is that you have to spend more to buy this if you don’t want to be scared. I think this should be considered more like an accommodation for a disability (and that may be another situation where this is useful) and should be provided free of charge to those that want it.
Sea World implemented this policy for their haunt event and when I attended it was awful. Any time we were walking through a scare zone and there happened to be a person in the crowd that was wearing a no boo necklace none of us got scared by the scare actors. The only solution I can see working is if there is a separate path guests can take where they won’t be scared, otherwise it ruins the experience for those of us who are paying good money and want the full experience.

I think it’s a great idea. I would wear one of those necklaces or just not go
