The attraction with this “attraction” (no pun intended) is the fact that we are able to see things as they were. It. Stays away from the political history and controversy. Old technology, old appliances and the reaction by a family to cutting edge (for the time) conveniences. It doesn’t need to be updated or made relevant. We like to see things the way they were and let our imaginations take over. We are living the moment of how things are, hence we don’t need to be reminded of it.

      I agree with Bo Joseph.
I have been enjoying the parks since 1978, attended over 100 times.
Don’t change the attraction- clean it and fix things that break and wear out.
If someone doesn’t like it ( minority) then they don’t have to ride it, but let other’s ( majority) enjoy it.
      Disney, please note:
Stop listening to the radical minority and return to a company that puts children and families first. We built the company with our patronage ( buying movies and merchandise)and attendance in the parks. You offered family friendly entertainment.
Now you don’t. Return to you previous standards. Be a company that excels in family entertainment only. Stop the radical political agenda. You are loosing your core audience. This loss has far reaching implications.

        I agree completely

The Jazz Singer is significant for its technological advancement, NOT for the content of the film. Instead of sweeping history under the rug and censoring the past, as woke people try to do, continue focusing on the amazing feat of the first ever “talkie”.

It’s not the woke people that are trying to change everything it’s the anti-woke people that are trying to change everything hun .

      1. Terry

        And then you woke up.

      2. Gustavo V.

You sure showed everyone with your condescending comment, anonymous troll.

      3. Ron

Spoken like a true, oblivious lefty

I went to the attraction in New York many times. When I moved to Southern California there it was to my great joy, a half hour away! I feel sorry for all of those who choose to rewrite our history instead of teaching it. The “magic” of “progress” has turned into a drive to whitewash our collective memory. Let use these magical moments and references to explain our past, allow us to enjoy the present, and change the future.

My mother loved the nostalgia of the attraction.
She remembered growing up with extention chords everywhere.
I always fall asleep during the attraction.
I was wondering if there’s a possible gas leak, but because it’s a General Electric attraction, I would assume it’s all electric not gas powered.

The Classic Disney experience should be updated, rebuilt, and focus on our technological future Keep the relevant experiences of the past and quickly project and move towards tge future. Createxexcitement about this throughout the ride/experience.

No. Let’s keep it the way it is. What we are in now to much political, people want to change things. Keep the way it is. Back then was awesome. Sometimes I wish internet would go down for 2 days.

      No

I use technology every day for work, with all the newest crap, and the more I use it, the more I see that it will be our demise. Especially AI….

No matter how often I see this attraction, I still love it. Uppdate it. Improve it, but it is a timeless tribute to Walt Disney. Don’t close it!

    1. Patricia Geving

I AGREE100%! To do away with it does nothing for us. It should be repaired and cleaned up, but not scrapped! The thought of them shutting it down saddens me, but I know Disney would never let that happen. After all, it was Walt’s best invention and most favorite ride!

  7. David kinsman

If she is offended by the attraction don,t ride it.

  8. Mike C

Exactly, HOW MANY people are OFFENDED????

  9. Aaron Eckardt

I grew up with the attraction when I went to Disney world eons ago for the first time it’s a classic just refurbish it as it is as for the woke folks don’t like it cool do not see it it’s historic and a piece of walt Disney essence in it .😎👍💯🏆

Carousel of Progress is one of my favorite attractions. It gives us a glance of history and advances in technology. History is important, and we can see how far we’ve come. So many young people can benefit from seeing this glimpse of history, and it’s very well done. The Jazz Singer reference is important because of the technology advance not because of its content.

  11. Robert L

It is a classic . You can update it but keep it true to its mission of showing you how life has changed over the last 125 years

  12. Kim

I love this attraction…I’m black…you have to dig deep to be offended…keep it the same…I love the end when you see what people in the 70s (my generation) thought the future was going to be. My 5 yr granddaughter loved it too

  13. Cheryl C

Update the last scene and keep the attraction. It is beloved and a great place to cool off and relax for a few minutes.

  14. Bob

How symbolic of everything the woke mind virus touches: rot

  15. Anonymous

I don’t feel it needs to be modernized I actually enjoy the carousel when I’ve been yes I think it needs a good refurbishment so that things function properly but I do not feel like it needs an overhaul of completely new storyline or any of that stuff . It’s one of the few things that Disney originally created that is still in the park so it needs to be left alone .

  16. Darlene

…nope! Do NOT “re-imagine” this ride into a WOKE version of itself!!

  17. Judith

We always visit the Carousel of Progress when we are there. Update it a little but do not get rid of it! Love the nostalgia

  18. Alan Lindsay

Carousel has been a family favorite since the mid 90s. Of course, it’s dated. We don’t try to update historical items in a museum. We love learning about a different time in our history. Leave it as Walt wanted. Millions more will enjoy it in the years to come.

  19. Jamie

This is one thing that Walt did & imagined what it would be like in the future. Don’t change a thing but clean it up & stop neglecting it. Give Walt something that his ancestors & CEOs haven’t screwed up yet

  20. Jackie

I think it would be cool if they restored the last scene to what it was at the worlds fair. It would be cool to see the 1964 vision of the future.

  21. Mickey

The Carousel of Progress is a look back in history over 120 yrs ago to give people what it’s like back them and now how from we came along and what it like living back them, and what was in the house’s. And it show how much progess we came along. I’ve been going on that ride for over 40’s, leave it alone.

  22. Donna

    One of my favorites.

  23. Robert Horn

This ride suffers like do many of the rides at WDW neglect, from preventive maintenance including painting in general care about the rides.
As far as updating maybe they can put those faceless Auto animatronics like the ones in the Frozen ride (horrible). Sure update their clothes and some of the “gadgets” I’m sure people will realize the “progress” family would be the “great or possibly great great” grandparents of the ones from act one.
Bottom line “Disney” kick up your maintenance program for this and all attractions.

  24. Ah

I thought it was great to see the time as it was and then changed over time. I say they should keep it the way it is and maybe update it and repair it.

  25. Wcjeep

We use the ride for Air Conditioning. Nice break off our feet.

  26. Pat Crudo

I was a teen when I first saw this at the Fair and must have gone on at least a dozen times. It was close to home we would go often. When I first went to Disnyland and saw it was there I made sure to see it every time I visited. Must be over 30 times. It may have some things that SOME people may not like BUT it is all factual and should be maintained and kept basically unchanged.
