Polite critique: I do not follow the online discourse too much, but I don’t know who is confused about Sabine’s Force sensitivity. In season 3 of ‘Rebels’, episodes 15 and 16, we got to see her learn alongside Ezra from Kanan concerning how to wield her newfound Darksaber (ik that the Darksaber is not technically a lightsaber, but she eventually yields Ezra’s lightsaber in those episodes; an action we know requires some form of Force sensitivity). Elsewhere in the series, her Force powers are hinted at but never fully developed, presumably because she was a bit preoccupied. All of this to say that it fits quite well with my expectations for her character too have been trained. Secondly, the difference between what Luke did in TLJ and what the newest trailer hints Ahsoka did is that Ahsoka did not finish her Jedi training; she never even became a Knight. It makes much more sense for her to be weary about training a Padawan than it does for Luke, whom Yoda christened a full Jedi in RoTJ. Just my thoughts tho …

Using a lightsabre doesn’t require Force sensitivity – this is proven by General Grievous, who not only wields four of them, but defeats every Jedi he faces until Obi-Wan takes him out.

Also, in the old Expanded Universe, now called Legends, there was a Jedi Master with zero Force sensitivity.

      1. Ray

Correction Mace Windu defeated General Grievous in the cartoon clone wars. And in fact he wounded him by crushing his throat.

    2. Adrian

Wielding a lightsaber does not require any Force sensitivity at all, and neither does the Dark saber

Quit a stretch. She left to find Ezra. And is coming back. That’s nothing like Last Jedi Luke.

    1. Huh??

Why are people cry-baby wining about Luke? He started TLJ troubled and lost…. But he ended up as the biggest hero of all times.

  3. CosmicMate

Disney is not capable of producing Star Wars content that is not trash.

    1. Jmac67

True. Its only a money grab. I know Lucas didn’t do it as a charity, but at least he cared about the material.

I’d rather have a new Luke Skywalker actor than more cgi face one.

Refusal to recast has caused problems in my opinion.

Leia should have been recast for Rise of Skywalker and if that had happened the whole story could have been better.

Everyone needs to be recast because even if the OT characters are far from the focus it makes little sense for them to be in the witness protection program five years after the Battle of Endor.

    2. Mike Rinnier

I am a very long time star wars fan love all pre Disney movies and like some parts of new .I have read all the EU and I would rather see them recast any and all just stop with the CGI actors

Wow…surprise. Kidding of course – because anyone with an inkling of intelligence knows Kathleen Kennedy and her ilk sought to destroy Luke Skywalker and anything pre-female dominance in a galaxy far, far, away.

Outside Cal Kestis, Cassian Andor who eventually dies as we know, and now that she is pushing out Din Dijarin only one show in development has a supposed hero-type male. Acolyte has three female leads no men, Ashoka has two female leads, the male lead is the antagonist, actually most male roles are or non existent. Rey’s film is of her training another female to lead the Jedi and Outlaws is about a Transgender Female hero…at least her robot is male right?

Disney’s so-called inclusiveness is can you be a side character to our Feminist Driven Agenda? And that is all that matters to them. Equality in modern feminism is let us dominate society and entertainment or we will throw a fit, ruin everything you love or worse.

Being the father of four daughters and four sons, it’s my boys I worry about in the future, not my girls. Whether bi, gay or straight, we men are losing our place to the lies of woke equality.

    1. Sarina

Oh fk off with this bs 🙄 your boys will be fine

    2. KING

lol xD so you fear that women equality removes the entitlement of men. yep, that’s the point that stop thinking you worth more – you don’t. the “i have daughter” sounds like you’re trying to prove that you treat girls equally when in reality you don’t.

For those who apparently don’t know “Heir to the empire” is not canon to the Star Wars mythos

    1. jal11180

I could care less what you, Disney, George Lucas, or anyone else thinks.

    2. Jeremy

Heir to the Empire is not canon? This trilogy is probably the most well regarded and famous part of the entire Star Wars EU.

Disney can say whatever they want about canon, but they’re not the ones that decide what is or is not canon. The fans do that, and little to nothing of what Disney has put out is canon.

  7. Guy

They could replace Luke,Leia and Han with Scooby Doo Bugs Bunny and a Ford pinto if they felt like it

  8. John

It honestly disgusts me how Dave Filoni can plagiarize Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire trilogy, and replace all the protagonists with his pet characters, only 2 antagonists were kepr. This is literally the definition of plagiarism, he’s making money off of another authors work while that other author is still alive.

    1. TheTeacher

Plagiarism? So thats what all the Lord of the Rings movies, Game of Thrones, & everything else based on another authors books are?! Thanks for filling everyone in! I’m sure all those other directors disgust you & you hate their work too! That’s not plagiarism genius!😂😂😂

      1. Darth Gator

LOL. You’re not very bright, are you? Filoni isn’t making a film version of Zahn’s books with minor changes to accommodate the new medium. He’s essentially taking the basic plot of LotR, replaced Fellowship with Rosie Cotton, Eowyn, one of the Blue Wizards (who is now a pansexual Entwife), and an elf he made up, then had the Eagles fly them all to Mordor where Sauron is beaten by the sheer volume of Girl Bossness. Rosie, of course, will have overcome the Ring’s corruption and bent it to her will, which allows her to become Queen of Gondor, Arnor, Rohan, the Shire, Moria, and Harad, ruling in utter peace for 1000 years.

Yeah, ‘plagiarism’ is the wrong word, but the meaning of comment was plain enough to anyone who isn’t a TLJ apologist.

    2. Andy

Filoni and Zahn have literally been working together to write Thrawn since he showed up in Rebels.

  9. TheTeacher

Yeah, you & a lot of fans are reading too much into trailers! Have you not learned yet that different lines are always mixed up in these trailers to confuse fans on the context they were meant to be taken in? Ahsoka didn’t cut herself off from the force, she left the Jedi Order! Big difference trouble maker!

  10. Alex

    They never learn

  11. Simon

The will of the force needed things to happen the way they do

  12. Mike Rinnier

  13. Dave

Honestly have no idea how these hacks get jobs writing about things they clearly do not understand. Luke was never part of this story. Because this story belongs to Dave Filoni and is a continuation of what he told in Rebels, which had nothing to do with Luke.

  14. The Last True Knight

    Yeah…none for me, thanks.

  15. Starwars fan

This is a prime example of an author doing minimal research and thinking they are an expert. Ashoka never abandoned the force like Luke did. She was kicked out of the Jedi order and when they asked her back she said no. She then went on the start the Folcrum Order. Still very much involved with the force. Luke did the same thing yoda did. I don’t see how this author has ha job.

  16. Dave

Boycott Disney. They hate their fans.

  17. Reapervoid789

Ashoka is not worth watching. Doesn’t look very interesting by the looks of it.

  18. Andrew

Judging by the success of the last few SW shows and movies…Disney seems to want to loose money
If inclusivity and diversity is so important…why do they not lower the parks ticket prices to allow common folk to go?

  19. Mootie

I don’t know why people are sitting here getting mad over a single line.

Sabine learned from three different people how to use the Darksaber through her history. Her calling Ahsoka “master” doesn’t mean that she’s force sensitive. All it means is that her training under Ahsoka was made an official relationship. That’s it. That’s literally all it means.

    Ahsoka isn’t a Jedi.

Do you know that I am Jesus’ father. GOOD TO YOU, KNOW THAT ALL BAD THINGS ARE THE DIRECT ACTIONS OF THE ANTICHRIST JIM MACNEIL AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN. HE IS NEVER FORGIVEN. @UBIQUITOUSLY STOP HIM .HE IS IN EITHER KIRKCALDY, RAITH MANSE MANSION, OR EDINBURGH COWGATE, GRASSMARKET

  21. Rob

So many incels…. Lucas’s stories also had feminist themes. The “rescue” of princess Leia by a thug, his pet, a farm boy and his old wizard friend would have failed had it not been for Leia’s strong leadership. Boys need to leave SW out of your Klan meeting topics….

  22. Rick

At this point IDC if they change Star Wars canon, as long as the show is good.

  23. Jet

In general and it pains me to say, that i am done with Star Wars.
I was 7 years old in 1977 and waited in the rain for over an hour to watch episode IV. It was nothing like I had ever seen before, and the original characters became my heroes!
They can do what and make what they want, for me SW ended when Mr. Lucas sold his children to the slave traders!
