I wonder how much money it’s gonna cost Disney to re-theme back into Splash Mountain after this ride becomes a absolute failure just like Disney has done with Strange World, Lightyear, Star Wars Hotel, Indy 5, the lists goes on. This ride is gonna go down as one of the dumbest decisions in Disney history.
This shouldn’t be a surprise. The proposal published in 2020 stated that all the animatronics will be removed, and it will be screen-based to save operating costs. All the control hydraulic systems have already been removed from the WDW Splash Mountain.
The Riverboat was actually recycled from another attraction before Splash Mountain. Too bad it can’t remain and be a part of yet another attraction. I’m not really big on water rides. Being wet for hours while walking around a theme park isn’t fun.
