Just stop with the bs lying. Steamboat Willie is becoming Public Domain. Other iterations of Mickey are still protected. Mickey Mouse is a Trademarked name and therefore does not expire. However, movies, written items such as books, and other entertainment media is copywrited and does expire and become public domain. A good example is Alice in Wonderland. The original Book and story have been in public domain for a longtime now and can be freely used. However, the Disney Movie and characters are copywrited till 2046 and therefore owned and managed by Disney, which means that in order to use their likenesses from that requires permission and approval from Disney which also means that Disney can charge you for using the works from that.
Now this situtation has nothing to do with the copywrite issue it is an accident by a performer. Nothing more nothing less. The real concern should be about whether the performer was injured. ITM you have your priorities messed up and I think that we the fans should hold you and your staff accountable for your transgressions.
