It’s not that different from normal July for Disney 😊

  2. Erin

I am confused, why is it dangerous to go to Disney World right now?

    1. El Ratón Miguelito

Why hasn’t the NAACP issued a travel warning for Chicago, Baltimore, or St. Louis? Now, those are very dangerous places for Americans of African heritage.

    2. Thank

It’s not because of anything the state is doing. If it’s dangerous, it’s because the park itself keeps hiring employees that are harmful to children.

  3. Crystal

Maybe they should worry more about the prices. Most like myself couldn’t afford a vacation for 6 anymore. Back in the 90’s we took our 2 older children all the time.

    1. Belle

Bingo! It’s the sky high prices! Then you pay again to skip the rides. Hard for a family to afford to go.

    2. Gary Michaels

Totally agree. My wife and I honeymooned at Disney world on the eighties, and almost averaged a trip a year for more than a decade. But now, if we want to take a deluxe trip, or even stay in a “moderate” resort we practically need to refi our house. You can literally get a posh upscale suite at the Hyatt for what Disney is charging for the All Stars. All while cutting services like housekeeping, room service, extended hours, etc. Maybe they are just trying to be sure there’s plenty of room in the parks for the Uber rich they are clearly catering to now…

  4. Adrienne

I’m taking my money to Tokyo.

    1. El Ratón Miguelito

      Sayonara!

  5. Rae

Lol this is hilarious 😆. People plan trips to Disney months or even years in advance. Non of the groups I’m in have mentioned canceling due to what you have mentioned. But people definitely mentioned avoiding June. I avoid summer months in general and so do many.

    1. Marie

I just came back from Disney World other then the heat which you can always go see a show or go into a store for air conditioner it wasn’t bad at all the rides were ok for lines for wait time. The crowds were there but didn’t seem to be too crowded for summer. I had a great time going there this month. I felt very safe there didn’t worry about anything.

    2. Maria Alfonso

What a ridiculous article! It does not reflect the reality at all. There’s no such demonstrations or protests, even though the Disney organization deserves them for its outrageous prices, disregard for family values, and chaotic reservation and ticketing system. You need a college degree and thousands of dollars to take your family to Disneyworld now a days!

  6. Timmy

I was there the beginning of July. Don’t know what people are talking about. Didn’t see any demonstrations and all the parks were PLENTY busy. Much to do about nothing.

  7. Steve

    Magic Kingdom yesterday was packed

  8. Jeff

It’s pretty much normal July weather. Before I move down, I visited Disney in July of 1977. It was 90° with almost 90% humidity. And the statewide warning is just BS. Nobody’s in jeopardy.

  9. Joe

That’s strange. From all of the reports that I’ve heard people are flocking to Florida. Just not to Disney. Might be because of their persistent WOKE agenda that people are tired of. Or the rising costs of a Disney vacation. Plus there isn’t much magic left in “The Most Magical Place On Earth”.

    1. Susan

That could be the real reason

    2. Sue

I completely agree. The prices have skyrocketed and they have gone WOKE! We had season passes and would go a few times a year. We’re never going back!

    3. mike

      explain what woke is huh!!!

    4. Ging

yup-the real reason for low attendance is people are sick of Disney pushing their woke ideology.Lmao-blaming it on “white supremacists”….

    5. Beverly Hockel

Stop believing the Desantis propaganda Joe. Disney is wonderful. The spirit of Disney is unsurpassed by other parks. Makes no difference who you are. It’s where dreams come true.

  10. MRod

The heat is the reason, the poor economy thanks to POTUS
Disagree with a lot of what Disney is doing but still love Walt Disney World

    1. Than

      Hear, hear.

  11. Susan

If people feel that threatened, then they should stay away. The rest of us, however, will continue to live our lives and enjoy beautiful Florida vacations.

  12. David Duncan

This is just a lot of BS from a liberal moron. Florida is busier than ever with tourists – the roads couldn’t handle any more. And Disney – I have never seen the parks so busy!

  13. She

You got it wrong. WDW is the one who has made an unwelcome environment. We love Florida, just WDW is off our visit list. Go woke, go broke.

  14. Stacy Minton

I don’t know what the norm is for attendance to the Disney World Resort Parks in Florida. My son and I were just there from July 8th to the 15th. We had a wonderful time. We rode nearly every ride we intended to, built lightsabers and enjoy discovering a couple new restaurants we haven’t tried before that are now favorites for us. While walking around was peaceful crowd wise without separation issues or witnessing the fights that have occurred frequently we did have a wait time with rides still not as long as they can be normally minus the new Guardians coaster which had the longest wait I have experienced but there was still some long wait times for rides if that is an indication that their was still an active amount in attendance. We also experienced a crowded visit to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks display in the evening if that gives a better understanding of how busy Disney still is with tourist attendance.

  15. Bennett Lavorino

This woke nonsense may affect the Movies but not the theme Parks. People down here love DeSantis. It’s just the woke liberals that have a problem with him. My wife is a CM and I visit the parks often. They are definitely packed with long waits for some of the attractions. This is the 2nd time some cupcake sent out a propaganda post about the poor attendance.

  16. Ana

    Cancelled

  17. D Hertz

    Really…try coming back to earth

  18. Tim

As with any theme park crowds will vary, but overall yes there is definately fewer people ging to the parks. It has nothing to do with temperatures or the feud. It has to do with things like PRICE, the lack of customer service and the fact that everyone got their post covid travel ut of the way and are now suffering from sticker shock and empty wallet syndrome and cannot return for a long time. The biggest thing is that what little magic there was it was driven out by Chapek and Iger is not bringing any of it back. That is for the entire company not just the parks. This is an interesting time to watch. Disney is so unique and the only one for many years that was involved in entertaining people through so many different venues that to see it fail as we are watching now will provide many lessons for future corporations that try it after Disney.

I was there in June and July. Things were for the most part the same as always. But maybe the fact that the cost of a Disney vacation is getting higher and higher for families might be one reason for low attendance and the fact that the food in the food courts is getting gross as well as the fact that the merchandise in the parks seems to be getting cheaper looking. Epcot, which is my favorite park has no shows left or performers or hardly any merchandise left. Morocco is empty, no street performers hardly left. What’s up disney? You charge more for less lately. Not to mention boardwalk area performers and fun events in the evenings. The boardwalk and Epcot used to be full of life. It’s sad to see lately its decline. We are DVC and ps holders and sadly lately I’ve seen a decline.

  20. We have had annual passes since they have been available. We were a family of four, now we are 12! Disney World is a place that we can leave the world behind and make wonderful memories.

  21. Sherri

I don’t care what anyone is saying. I constantly read nothing but negativity about Disney like certain people have a goal to try and trash Disney. Maybe someone should write a pleasant article. Not everyone hates Disney and Florida. We’re from NY and look forward to our yearly September visits. See you in 6 weeks florida and Disney ! We can’t wait !!

  22. George Reynolds III

This is going to cost DeSantis his chances of election as President as well as his re-election as Governor of Florida!!!!!

    1. We shall see!

  23. Sherry

I was there 2 weeks ago, shoulder to shoulder people, did Magic Kingdom & Epcot, extremely hot & crowded. As a passholder I can go during the week ,thinking less people, wrong, it’s just as crowded, I don’t see people avoiding Disney

  24. Bruce Jacobs

As a long time visitor to both Disneyland (since 1959) and WDW (since 1973) and annual pass holders, it has gotten too expensive and too restrictive when it comes to making reservations. In the past, I never had to make one to get into the parks and feel it’s not worth the hassle to do so today. Also, I had an annual pass that expired during COVID and lost a few months of usage and never was offered credit or any type of compensation toward new passes to be used at a later date. The prices and restrictions are just out-of-hand and as much as I enjoy it, I’ve not been there since.

  25. Amber

Oklahoma just announced a theme park they’re building with an over 2 billion price tag- I’ll hold on until 2026 for them.

  26. Wow! DeSantis is trying correct something that should have been corrected long ago, I as a Florida resident pay may fair share of taxes and Disney should too! God Bless Ron Desantis and I have no plans to visit disney ever again!

  27. Mark Rockstroh

I don’t go to Florida in the summer even though my birthday, wife’s birthday and our wedding anniversary are all in July. Been there, done that and prefer the months between September and April, excluding those known dates when school systems are out. Looking forward to my upcoming Alaskan Disney cruise and my trip to WDW in February 2024. I have no problems with Disney being “woke” as I believe it is the correct way to be.

  28. DeLaunhardt

We in Florida are having RECORD AIR TRAVEL and you publish this WOKE fantasy…

Disney is EMPTY while Universal is ROCKIN’….

    Get WOKE GO BROKE!!

  29. Verna

I’m going to WDW. Not spending time or money outside the park. The governor will not keep me from my favorite vacation

    1. Patti

The Governor doesn’t want to interfere with your plans. Disney just needs to pay its fair share of taxes.

  30. Jay

Maybe people are deciding what they want to do and not be told what to do?

  31. Joe

My wife and I used to go all the time, we would buy annual passes every year. Then we had two kids and we bought for annual passes but that’s the last few years Disney’s just too expensive. Ticket prices are insane.

  32. Kirk wallace

I take note of the hyperbole and virtue signaling in your commentary

  33. DK

Well, speaking from someone who knows someone working there. They don’t have enough workers. It’s hot. Normal lull. Good try on your spin. You’ll indoctrinate some with your liberal agenda.

  34. Paul

Where are people finding pictures of small crowds? As a AP holder I visit regularly. Recently I took my family that was visiting and every park was packed to the seams. As we’re rides. Tower of Terror posted 105 minutes. Took us just under 3 hours

  35. Gary Michaels

Such filthy bias. More than half the country, upwards of 75% agrees with DeSantis on stopping the introduction of sexual acts to kindergarten children. So you want the schools to teach 6 year olds graphic sex acts? Well that’s fine I guess. But blaming DeSantis for Disney’s problems? No blame to Disney for getting all political and turning off more than half of their customers? I realize you may have the opinion that this of us who agree SHOULD stay away because you hate us. But hopefully Disney has better sense, and will go back to welcoming everyone and staying COMPLETELY out of political issues. And even though I clearly disagree with your obvious point of view, I welcome you to continue enjoying Disney, even if they aren’t out front championing your cause du jour.

  36. Stephen

Wow, you look at this through the point of a true communist. Well spoken sir
