“Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released straight to Disney+…” when you say this, do you mean “released straight to Disney+ in addition to theatrical release, or just Disney+ release? Cause if you mean the latter, it was in fact released in theaters. I remember this as I had gone to see it the day it was released (I believe either on or near Thanksgiving) and my mom was mad because I had bought us all tickets and she ended up just sitting in the car as my dad and I watched it by ourselves as she does not like Disney movies.
Frozen took the world by storm by a far greater margin than Encanto could ever dream of. Let It Go was a phenomenon for more than 2 years. People moved on from Encanto after a couple of months.

Maybe they’re finally figuring out they need to do a better job with their stories – and not tick off their traditional audiences – than just rushing another sequel into production. In other words , no more mediocrity, politics, DEI, etc. It’s back to basics.

I’m appalled by so many of your comments! We are talking Disney movies! Yes they have had their political moments, Bambi for one, but for the most part they are very good stories for children and adults! They’ve made some ‘gruesome fairy tales’ into happy life stories! Read some of the original stories, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and on and on…. These are the stories we want our children to hear. They can read the originals when they grow up.
