Disneyland usually gets treated like a second class citizen, let them have their day, it’s their turn. Disney rarely does a good job with both coasts at the same time.
Disney has got to buckle down and get some sort of grip on Epcot construction. The big inside joke for cast members is that the construction crews spend all of their time moving the walls every night, and never accomplishing anything.
If they are planning to have another celebration at Epcot there has to be some sort of urgency with getting the current construction finished.
Universal is going to have Epic Universe open before Epcot gets finished. It’s insane.
Sad,they set up their own little principality in a state with it’s own weird culture then slowly but surely tried to import their own Hollywood L.A.attitude and rub all our noses in it.
Is there any surprise that the stuff finally hit the fan?
Epcot has been under heavy construction since 2019 and has nothing to show for, except the new Starbucks, Space 220 “ Restaurant”, the 3 piece of Acrylics at the entrance and the roller coaster Guardians of Galaxy
Disney’s desire to shut out and make difficult pleasant experiences for local Floridians for the past DECADE predates ant of the political nonsense going on
I love Disney World. I used to collect the Mickey Mouse until we moved (to Florida). I gave over 100 Mickey Mouse beanies to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to give them to the children patients. I still have some things. I have been to Disney World 3 times and Disneyland too. I love Disney World. I sent a letter to someone there when DeSantis and begged them not to leave. Everyone who comes to Florida go to Disney World. It’s Florida’s main attraction. It raises most taxes for Florida. I hope they never leaves. Disney World is magical!
There is a simple solution: revert back to pre-covid policies of no reservations and fast lines are free. Revamp one ride at a time. Get descent chefs and have no sit-down meal over $40. The new regulations are ridiculous and complicated. We do not want to wake at midnight to make reservations. Do what I suggest and the parks will be full AnD selling more meals! It’s simple fellas.

Being that the Walt Disney World 50th Celebration was scheduled to overlap the Disney 100th Celebration, it’s understandable that WDW would be a little late to the latter.
Disney needs to start by ramping up ride maintenance. Over the years I feel Disney has neglected the structures that already exist. This should be in addition to ramping up the completion of all the construction already in progress. STOP adding more projects until the ones they’ve started are completed. If it means hiring additional hands, so be it! Patrons are paying through the nose yet we are faced with broken rides and miles of walls to look at and navigate along with never ending rising costs. Patrons are getting tired of paying more and more without seeing progress.
I also agree with Deborah, Disney needs to return to pre-pandemic days! I know I refuse to fund Disney until I see marked improvement and changes patrons have been consistently expressing.
*More money yet less hopping time
*Excluding value and moderate hotels from late magic hours.
*Genie anything and LL needs to be gone
*Return Magical Express
…Just to name a few changes that NEED attention.
I’d like to stress that making frivolous changes don’t count! Like the most recent with Genie! GET RID OF GENIE!
And lastly STOP forcing patrons HAVING to navigated their entire vacation with noses in cell phones! The whole purpose of vacations is to get away from the hustle and bustle of our already busy & stressful lives and to enjoy family and friends! Disney has missed the mark on so many levels!
Why would Disney put any effort or money into it’s Orlando location when DeSantis is doing everything he can to bring it down? As much as I love the taxes Disney generates for us Floridians, I don’t blame them at all for prioritizing the LA location….at least they have a governor who values them and the assets they contribute to the state. DeSantis is ruining our FORMERLY free state of Florida! Every draconian law he passes brings us further from freedom and closer and closer to the tyrannical dictatorship he craves. Disney’s decisions to invest elsewhere are completely justified.
As long as DeSantis and his supporters continue their hate campaign….against disney and others…. Florida deserves as little magic as is possible, short of removing WDW entirely. While I would love to see that, its never gonna happen
Really, I was feeling that Florida was getting new things. Galaxy’s Edge, Frozen Ever After, Tron Light Cycle, Toy Story Land and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We here out west got Galaxy’s Edge. Sure we got Avengers Campus with one attraction and an updated/retheme to Paradise Pier (with no newly added attraction). Just saying.
WDW just got done with their 50th anniversary so I’d say it’s time for Disneyland to get some publicity. That’s where Walt started long before WDW came to fruition.
It’s really more about the talent that can be attracted in Florida. Most of the creative, passionate people that work for Disney and make it great are not willing to live under tyrannical fascism.
disneyland has night parades, a beautiful day parade, better pirates and haunted mansion etc. Yes they get special treatment and it was that way , WAY before the DeSantis /disneyworld arguments……….
You are correct WDW is not seeing the same level of celebration for the 100. It is purposeful, because the celebration is 100 years of Walt Disney Studios, in California. So, the majority of the activities are at the California park. It was always planned that way. I am a cast member in Orlando. We were disappointed that we were not getting the new name tags, like California got, fo the 100th.
You’re sure the difference in the two park’s celebration of the Disney 100th isn’t because Walt Disney World just celebrated it’s own 50th anniversary less than a year ago? That one was focused on Magic Kingdom since that opened 50 years ago so focusing this on Epcot seems reasonable as does doing more at Disneyland that didn’t have it’s own celebration last year. What are the international parks doing for the 100th? That would provide more points of comparison.

Perhaps the reason they’re not doing big things at Disney World is because of Governor DeSantis and all of the ongoing issues with him?
