  1. I don’t think it should be phased out

Disney Channel isn’t going anywhere and neither will linear TV. Streaming however will be banned as a medium in less than a decade and that means Disney Plus will be gone too. Disney Channel will be around for another 40 years.

    1. Steve

Banned in what way? Where on earth did you get this assumption/conspiracy?

      1. Steve

Meaning every single streaming service will be outlawed and Netflix shut down by the government. I’ve got family in Congress involved in it and so am I as a military man. Cable, satellite, dish, and broadcast will be the only legal ways to watch television again.

The government can shove it, if true. What are they afraid of? Or have they been bought by cable?

          1. Steve

Television is supposed to be an event that you don’t miss like The Wizard of Oz at Christmas time, The Wonderful World Disney, various awards shows, the Super Bowl, the World Series, etc. Streaming was created to cater to couch potatoes and introverts afraid to leave their homes. Humans are meant to be social and go out to the theaters for movies, too. When streaming is banned you will go back to traditional media, or you will not be entertained. People should not and will not have options.

What makes you so sure? And why would streaming be banned? I’m sorry, but that doesn’t seem feasible even if Disney Channel does stick around.

    3. Nick

Streaming is not going to be banned. I don’t know why people say that.

      1. Steve

Yes it is. Netflix’s days are numbered too. Back to Blockbuster and Hollywood video you will go.

    4. Kibara

What world are you living in…?

  3. Peri

    Everyone cancel Disney Plus.

  4. Jon Smith

    I love big city greens!!!

  5. David

I think it should stay because we grew up on Disney channel and we love Disney channel

  6. Donna

No. Disney channel should not be phased out. Poor people can’t afford streaming service.

  7. I certainly do hope not. By the best. Favorite streaming channel

  8. I agree with the other person Disney won’t go anywhere but Disney Plus and other old movies and shows might not be banned yet but the current ones are gone completely it’s embarrassing and a upset victory

  9. Aaron Walker

Streaming will be the only way to continue watching shows, movies and sports soon. Which is fine, streaming is mostly better than cable anyway. Still kind of sad.

    1. Steve

No it will not be. Streaming will be banned and cable will be the law. I have never streamed anything and never will. No one’s going to catch me and make me stream. You will go back to cable.

  10. Matthew

Alot of new streaming services have live channels you can tune into and watch alongside their on-demand selection. If all these providers really wanna preserve their cable networks, they would include them in their streaming apps. AMC+ already lets subscribers watch their AMC network channels live, and Paramount+ lets subscribers watch their local CBS affiliate. Why shouldn’t we get to watch Disney Channel and all those FX networks on Disney+?

“Streaming however will be banned as a medium in less than a decade and that means Disney Plus will be gone too.”

I would be sincerely interested in your rationale for this statement. Cable and satellite TV are both demonstrably losing customers hand over fist. Physical media have largely become a niche product, and are in any event poorly suited for the distribution of new programming. So if you think streaming “As a medium” is going away sometime soon, I’d love to hear what you think is going to replace it. Or do you think that we’re simply going to stop consuming media altogether?

    1. Steve

It’s about denying instant gratification, punishing laziness, getting couch potatoes out of their homes and back into theaters, enforcing tradition. Streaming will banned and made illegal and people will be mandated by law to go back to cable and satellite. I have never streamed a single show or movie and never will. Traditional media today, traditional media tomorrow, traditional media forever. Physical media will also be the only legal way for studios to make home releases as well again. You will go back to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video, too. America is going to go backwards and that’s a good thing. There is nowhere left to go. Maybe It’s time for Hollywood to go back to the 1930s and 40s and return to the old Studio System with movie stars contracted to the studios again and MGM reigning supreme over the box office again with “more stars than there are in the heavens” as the dream factory that gave the world The Wizard of Oz.

  15. Heather

I don’t think it should banned. I think people should grow a back-bone and stop complaining about everything they can in this world.

Funny you should mention that because last night. My sister said I made up XL because no one she knows has it in New York. I have subscribed to Disney Channel for at least 18 years and since I haven’t seen it for tat least welve, maybe it doesn’t exist.
