Technically…. They do have a point actually. These performers ARE union under AGVA. American guild of variety artists. AGVA is allegedly a sister union with sag. You are even sag eligible if you work long enough. Why AGVA isnt in solidarity is the real question? Source- current AGVA performer at a theme park.

    1. From what I understand, Disney Cast Members are part of their own separate union that has very strict regulations. Some online claim they have no union at all. The one thing I do know is, unless they’re dancers or have a specific performance talent, they’re not in AGVA.

Many movies premiered recently but due to the strike, actors canceled their appearance’s thereby canceling the red carpet premiere. Disney should’ve done the same. They should’ve known that by replacing the actors it would cause conflict and controversy as it does whenever any Union strikes in any field.

So, let me see are the actors on Broadway and the various touring groups on strike as well? There is a big difference between live performance and screen acting and they are two different things. Now I am not sure why they are on strike to begin with because as I see it they are individual workers who negotiate, and sign contracts and it is ultimately their own doing in the pay rate and working conditions that they themselves allow. And as for the writers the same thing. Now what about foreign countries are they producing films still?
