Being a mutant or not is NOT what makes you an X-man or an Avenger.
I don’t know where you got that idea, but it blatantly calls attention to the fact that you are not at all well-versed in comic book lore.
It is true that only mutants are invited to join the X-Men, but being a mutant doesn’t automatically make you one.
The Avengers have had mutant members almost since the beginning, since Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and Pietro (Quicksilver) were among the first new members to join after the team first formed.

I have been a fan of Wanda / the Scarlet Witch since I was a little kid reading The Avengers comics. She’s my favorite character. I’m so glad that she’s still going to continue being a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. And I’m relieved that Olsen will continue to portray her as she’s done such a wonderful job.

That’s actually inaccurate One of the founding members of the xmen was not a mutant Calvin ranking codename mimic was an original xman and not a mutant

Rankin wasn’t a founding member. He didn’t join the roster for some time after their initial appearance, but he was indeed an early member. They have through the years had other non-mutant roster members on X teams or at least temporary members as well, such as the fact that Beast’s girlfriend was a temporary member.
