  1. I think the idea of a pedophile coming back and torturing the victims again probably will not fly very well and this snowflake universal. They would need to change Freddy’s character a little bit makeup someone who really was innocent and they seeking revenge on the children. Are the parents who killed. I will say this, though I think with the mother CGI all horror movies of pretty freaking out to me I really can’t enjoy them as I did when I was a younger guy. Maybe I’m just getting too old to enjoy watching people get killed anymore really how life is so short.

Besides the fact you just stated he talked way too much and his kills weren’t that impressive I never was a fan of the show and didn’t like Freddy. I almost could have enjoyed the remake cause just like you said what if he was innocent and just getting backs at the real monsters? But they just had to mess it up keeping the same crap that made the older ones suck in the remake as well.

      1. Eli

I think Brendon Fletcher would make a good freedy Kruger

      2. Eli

Brendon Fletcher from Freddy v.s Jason would make a good Freddy Krueger

  2. Angelo

I think it should be someone of who he would love to see take over his role in Freddy for the reboot someone he think is good and smooth as he is

Can Robert Englund just do “voice over “with “AI” effects ,There has to be a Freddy vs Jason part 2 right?, we all saw the ending to Freddy vs Jason.

    2. Ashley

I think he should be involve in who gets to play Freddy and pass the glove to. I will always love Freddy Krueger and Robert England.

  3. Jordan

I think no one should play as freddy they Need to leave it

    1. John

David Howard Thornton with out a doubt he the new face of horror

It needs to be a series.

  5. Rooster

Robert england an he can get a stunt double to to do the jumps an an n everything an he can do the slow close ups the movie’s are dark anyway

  6. Dave

Sebastian Roche’ would be the perfect choice! He was incredible as Mikael on The Originals. And he has the stature and physicality to be Freddy.

Is it possible to use a different actor, but portray him in a liking to Englund’s Freddy? Legally, New Line (or whoever owns the production company) should have the complete rights on the “likeness” of Freddy Krueger, not Robert Englund. That means that another actor can play and act like Englund’s portrayal of Freddy without being sued by Englund. More so, Freddy has such a pizza face, that you should be able to use a different actor and still have him resemble Freddy in the way Englund did. Honestly, the real difficult issue would be teaching the actor to follow all of Englund’s mannerisms and personality (maybe tone down the Bug’s Bunny routine from the Nightmare movies “The Dream Master” through “Freddy’s Dead” in favor of his dark, sadist humor from NOES 1, 2, and namely 3). There are so many interesting stories that still can be told through Freddy and his victims. At least more than the Halloween or Friday the 13th series can offer in terms of freshness and creativeness. Also, there is the possibility that Englund’s Krueger is digitized and then superimposed over a different actor’s body. This digitization has been used in Hollywood more recently over the years, including Terminator Dark Fate with Eddy Furlong and Linda Hamilton. It has been done to help de-age older actors too. Still, not sure if this technology is fully feasible yet, but it should be someday in the near future. The technology might still need to be worked on if your asking for a major character like Freddy to be digitized compared to a 2 minute scene in the opening minutes of Dark Fate… then again, they made it work for that horrible movie, “What’s Eating Benjamin Button,” or whatever it was called, starring Brad Pitt… the Benjamin Button flick. Just saying, there is nothing stopping a good, original, and entertaining sequel/reboot of the most original slasher in horror movie history. At least that’s what us diehard fans need to tell all those greedy Hollywood executives that only see dollar signs whenever they’re watching Krueger absorb some poor schmuck’s soul during a nightmare scene. …Freddy Rules. Dream Warriors is the best 80s slasher movie.

I absolutely love Freddy/Robert Englund…no one can take his place.. Just recently emailed Mr. Englund he sent us two signed Freddy/Robert signed pics (4×6) we asked for a signed index card or piece of paper…super nice guy!!

I think he can still play Freddy, just have a stunt double do all the fight scenes and stuff that he can’t do. But he can still put on the glove and makeup and do all the quip and one liners.

I think that no one should play freddy but Robert England if he cant go then its time for freddy to rest they make reboots and sequels that suck due to changing iconic characters and poor story telling they’ve ruined too many cult classics already there is only one true freddy and its the great Robert England england! Let us remember freddy for the movies England played freddy and let him rest remember we’re all his children now ahhh hahahahaha

Robert himself stated he’d like to pass the glove down to Kevin Bacon. I’d like to see maybe a clip or so even if it’s a tease of Kevin in the proper makeup and doing some voice tests, problem is no one can beat father time. As much as it pains me to say, it’s time to let Freddy go. Englund will always be the best and no one could ever really replace him.

  13. Keanon Arno

My name is keanon and I am 25 years old has a young child nightmare on elm street was always one of my favorite horror movies and I have always wanted to play Freddy growing up and I always wonder what it would be like to play Friday I would always copy Robert England movements I would copy his voice and I would practice for days doing Freddy skits just as Freddy are used to take acting classes and I’ve got all of Robert Englund‘s Friday movements down, so I think that if it ever came down to it if I ever had a chance, if they did do a reboot, I would love the chance to play Freddy

  14. Just re-make no 3 dream warriors it’s the best one and it’s great 80s movie all the rest leave alone rubbish

  15. Shannon

I honestly believe that no one can replace Robert E! He is the face of Nightmare On Elm St. As a child I loved Freddy.

  16. Craig cook

Robert England once said he’d like Kevin bacon to fill the role which would be a good choice also Jim Carrey would be great ,Tom Hiddleston, Willem Dafoe

  17. Craig cook

Also if anyone is a real Freddy Krueger fan and has watched all the movies plus Freddy’s nightmares and never sleep again documentary wes craven was gonna have Freddy as a child molester but he heard or read in a newspaper about a scandal I believe involving children being molested at a school or daycare I forget which one and he switched it making Freddy a child killer even throughout the movies no body ever said Freddy Krueger was a pedophile he was a child killer put some on Freddy’s name and my guy wes craven r.i.p. to the master of horror

  18. Miah

No more remakes or reboots!! In order for a Freddy movie to work as it should you need to continue the Freddy lore and not reboot it to your own. We learned that with the last one. I think Dylan’s new nightmare is a good direction to go with. Or continue something after Freddy’s dead or Jason vs Freddy

  19. Jason

A Nightmare on Elm Street is not like any other horror franchise, except maybe Hellraiser, Robert Englund is, was and will always be Freddy Kreuger, he can’t be replaced, he made that role what it is, there have been different Jason’s and different Michael’s but there has only been one Freddy, you can’t replace the amazing iconic Robert Englund with anyone else.

  20. I a really big freddy krueger I a big fan of freddy krueger and Robert Englund I hopeing he make nuther movie 🎬 be my friend be in his last movie my name is Wendy
