Do you mean heedless? Because a guest without a head seems like plenty of reason to stop a ride.

    1. Rachel

I came here to say this! Heedless for sure!

      1. Samantha

I came here to say this also. I really thought someone was beheaded on a ride. #disappointed

        1. Chris

No, he is headless for the fact that it was inserted up his anus.

          1. CP

People and their strange fetishes. *eyeroll*

          2. Shawn

It wouldn’t be the first time someone lost their head on a ride.

          3. Me

            Headless!
            You moron.

          4. Cate

I would have taken the guest off the ride. And made them walk down all those stairs. And right out the front entrance. He ruined everyone else’s experience. Not to mention the poor employee who had to hike up a mountain of stairs. Some people.

          5. Fulton

The dude just lost his head.

          6. SS

I totally agree and they should be banned from returning

          7. Alex

Yes I’m sure I’m not the only person who thought there head got chopped off

          8. Dana here . Do any of you actually read. Believe me you don’t want the experience of a person being beheaded.I was at Disney land in the early 70s when a guy stood up during the matahorn ride. It was a mess. People down below had blood squirter on them. And because of it they changed the ride. Slowed it down took tight turns out. I think they should make him stay and answer people s questions and respond to any other emergency s by way of walking.

          9. JT

There’s still possession of a head involved in that.

          10. Kevin

Thank u for having common sense lol

          11. Me

There’s no excuses for this moron. People like that need to be tossed out of the park at least a yr. To many kids are getting out of hand.

        2. Veebee

          Same! Haha

        3. Layla

          @Samantha
          🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👊

        4. Monica

          Me, too!

          1. Stephan

            The heedless headless rider.

        5. C

Me too!! I came to say the same. Headless, really???

        6. Crystal

@Samantha- “disappointd” someone was beheaded? Wow & yes I did agree with one comment,, have him walk down the stairs & out the front doors AFTER you throw his phone from the top of the roller coaster!

          1. gualm

Definitely very dangerous on this ride. It’s a straight drop and super fast and some jerking. Imagine you have a large IPhone or Samsung and it flies out of your hand. It would be like dropping a brick over an overpass.

        7. Pete

What was meant by headless was that person wasn’t using his or her head for what is was intended, common sense thought!

        8. SS

A complete lack of thinking on your part. The person behaved as if they had no brain.

        9. Blair Sadewitz

Look it up. It’s in the dictionary.

      2. Eric

The story was so much more interesting when I understood that someone without a head was breaking rules at the theme park…

      3. Blair Sadewitz

“Headless” as in “stupid” actually is English. It just so happens that the guest was indeed also heedless.

        Google it. You’ll see.

FWIW, I had to do a double-take, too. I certainly have never used “headless” to mean “stupid”, but it is consistent with the usage of “head” in English, e.g. “Where was your head when you decided to slam on the gas in front of that patrolman?”

      4. Bon

Same comment as everyone else. If you’re going to use the word, at minimum, three times in the article, use the right word.

    2. Pat

Thank you!!! Headless is used repeatedly…

      1. Mister E

Was the guest from Sleepy Hollow??

      2. John McLeod VII

It kept saying headless, and I was wondering what safety glitch got someone decapitated. Heedless means without regard. Headless means without your head.

        1. Isaac

I mean headless is another way of saying mindless. Although it’s not really used in this century and it sounds pretty moronic being used over and over again, it’s still technically not inaccurate.

          1. Blair Sadewitz

I think that was used more times than I’ve seen it used this way in my lifetime.

    3. Sharon

Exactly! Headless guest sure grabs the attention more than a heedless one does

    4. Kato

      Hahahajaj

    5. Kat

100% what I was thinking lol

    6. Rachel

Hahaha. I was just coming here to comment the same. It’s spelled “heedless” or “heedlessly.” I would hope they stop rides for headless guests.

    7. Kay

I would hope if someone was decapitated that the ride would be stopped.

    8. Pavel

I think you’re right, Anastasia. This guy couldn’t pass high school English, but here he is using the word “headless” 19 times to generate interest in his story.

    9. Stephen Edwards Edwards

I was wondering about that same thing…

    10. Kenneth Thalheim

Given CPs track record. I wouldn’t be suprised

    11. Kim

      🤣🤣🤣

    12. Denise

THANK YOU! I was trying to figure that one out. At first I thought it was a typo but they kept using the word so I got really confused 🤔😳😂

      1. This was the weirdest story I ever read, I thought headless person was sitting in the very front & I was imagining what the person next to them felt like sitting next to a headless person. That happened at WDW on one of the rides by GE they stood up an hit the wall as they were entering a tunnel, & it decapitated them. On these news clips it’s computer generated so there spell corrector never caught it & it kept repeating it’s printing. To 🤣🤣

    13. Paula

He said headless so many times. I’m guessing this was translated and he meant thoughtless There were a few other sketchy phrases. Either that or it was written by AI.

    14. M

My thoughts exactly. Some of these so called journalists need to use their heads and take English 101 again.

      1. Mark Ó Dochartaigh

Take heed, journalist, use your head!

    15. Pet peeve Pete

      Thank you!
His use of the word “HEADLESS” is the ONLY reason I’m in the comments.
(IDK… Maybe he’s a student of the language? Wouldn’t be surprised if he says “NUCULAR” also. Jussayin.)

    16. Cayo

I think “thoughtless” is a better choice of adjectives.

    17. Sarah

Also came here to say this!!!!! 🤦‍♀️ Smh wow. Lol

    18. James N Tatom

      Amen sister

    19. Peter

So glad to see I wasn’t the only one to notice that, I actually looked up headless to see if there was a new slang definition that I hadn’t heard of yet, nope.

    20. D

Thank you. I couldn’t get past it. Especially, since it was used multiple times. 😂

    21. Cheryl Johnson

That’s what I came here to say! 😁

  2. Quinn

Did you mean “heedless”? When I saw headless, I thought the guest did something weird like pulled their head into their shirt as though they were headless and tried to pretend the roller coaster had taken his head off.

  3. Dave

Man. Who ever wrote this is a twat.

    1. TacoDog

      X2!

    2. TacoDog

      X2

    3. Big Al

Absolutely. Someone should walk up steps and take his computer away from him for his headless use of shameful attention grabbing language to attract readers.

    4. Dirigible

      X10

  4. Stella

this is not an “emergency stop” its just a stop. and stopping on the lift to take phones happens every day at every park.

    1. SG

OMG I was very confused by the title!

  5. Bob

This is their policy, they do it daily, multiple times a day. No need here….

    1. Bob

Sorry no news here I mean!

    2. SG

OMG I was very confused by the title!

  6. Dan

Omg who cares. Worst case they lose their phone. Some tense employees made a scene because someone was holding there phone.

    1. Stella

worst case scenario is someone on ride or on the ground is injured by a falling phone. a young child was seriously injured this way last year at six flags magic mountain.

    2. Margaret

Tense employees? It’s a matter of safety. During the ride if the phone passenger loses grip of it, then it becomes a projectile that could hit another passenger or someone on the ground. Or if someone loses the phone and goes beyond barricades on the ground to retrieve it, there is a risk of getting hit. There is a reason for the standard policy; no, this is not an overreaction. It’s learning from history. Look at accident history before blaming employees for doing their jobs.

    3. Erjen

There have been multiple instances of people seriously injured by a dropped phone. I’m sure you’d change your tune if you or a friend or loved one got hit in the forehead.

    4. Hollance

My husband got nailed in the face by a flying phone. Split his nose open.

    5. Mallory

I mean… no, thats not the worst case scenario. I was hit in the head on a rollercoaster by some dingbats phone. At 60 mph I had a pretty severe concussion and needed stitches. It very literally felt like getting hit with a brick.

      1. Literally is not figuratively

You’ve never been hit with a brick then because, no; it’s not *literally* like getting hit with a brick. Figuratively yes, but literally getting hit with a brick can kill you even at slow speeds. It’s sharp, ragged and heavy. Phones are padded, smooth, and rounded. A phone will hurt like hell, and has the potential to do quite a bit of damage if it hits the right spot, but no it is not *literally* like getting hit with a brick

  7. Ela

English! Headless and heedless, there and thier, all words with different meanings. Good grief

    1. SG

OMG I was very confused by the title!

    2. jan

thier ? clearly you can’t spell either

    3. Nancy

English!! There and t-h-e-i-r not thier! Lol. You have not right to say anything about the way anyone else spells or uses different phrases because you can’t even spell! Hilarious!good grief to that!!!

      1. Nancy

        No I meant not not

  8. D

Are you proud of yourself? Do you consider yourself to be doing something worthwhile? Do you feel that you are contributing something to the world with the work you put out?? Not only are you a bad journalist but you’re a terrible composer as well.

  9. Ams

Please change this! The misspelling made me think that someone was decapitated on a ride. Very upsetting.

  10. The Maddest Hatter

Another example of the fine reporting here. Let me help you out:

    head·less: having no head

heed·less: showing a reckless lack of care or attention.

Fired: what the person who wrote this story should be

  11. Rojo

Not sure putting the entire ride through this….

  12. Meh

This didn’t happen. We were there that day.

    1. Duh

Were you monitoring that particular ride all day???????

  13. Rider

    Heedless? Brainless?

  14. Steve

    Headless?

  15. H. Kat

The term “headless” was a play on the term “having one’s head about them”, or making wise choices. This guest was crazy – or lost their head – in making dangerous decisions. The word choice was surely intentional and, FWIW, got a giggle from me. Bravo.

  16. Walter

I was so confused thinking this was a about someone decapitated.

  17. no

Definitely thought this way going to be more interesting… turns out it’s just to say the author and the publisher have room temperature IQs

  18. YOU CANNOT USE THE WORD “HEADLESS” TO DESCRIBE SOMEONE NOT LISTENING TO PARK RULES ON A ROLLERCOASTER OBVIOUSLY IMPLYING DECAPITATION ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY DIDNT PUT THEIR PHONE IN THEIR POCKET

  19. Andrew

I thought this was a British site and “headless” was a British term for not using one’s head that I had never heard of (once I discovered the subject wasn’t actually missing their head).

  20. WOWW

    Lmao.. this website. 🤣
I don’t even know what to say anymore.
    They’re so desperate

  21. Joe

This park is way over priced and not worth it. Who ever wrote this needs fired. Making people think someone’s head is not attached is not funny at all. Some people will go to extreme measures to get someone to read their story . Really people get a life.

  22. Daisy

Yoooo, pretty sure headless isn’t used correctly here 😂😭

  23. Jeremy Matthews

Videoing with a cellphone? I took video with a full sized VHS camcorder at 6 flags over Georgia back in the mid 80’s on their largest rollercoaster, both going forward and backwards. Only thing they said was they would not be responsible for its loss.

  24. Marivi

I don’t believe he meant “heedless.” I think it was a play on “he lost his head” that didn’t work out as well in English as it does in Spanish.

  25. J

This has got to be the worst translation into English I have seen in a while. I have no idea what it is trying to say.

  26. Andrew

I only came here to know why someone’s head was taken off. I am thoroughly disappointed.

  27. Rtbsha6

I love Magum! Top 5 favorites!

  28. R.W.

Learn how to spell, you witless twit. I clicked here hoping to see someone decapitated, not get lectured and their phone confiscated. I feel worse for the park employee who had to climb all the way up there for that.

  29. Jim

    Title was intentional

  30. AJ

Ed, you know what you were doing with this title and you knew it was a stretch. That is not how “headless” is used. This is trash writing *at best*

  31. I would go stop the roller coaster and not let them ride again. This is sort like the crazy adults on the airplane. He opened the the door in the airplane. Who raised these people.

  32. Daniel

I wish there was the ability to “like” people’s comments here! 😆 Also, I hope I used commas and apostrophes and capital letters, had good grammar all around really, cause you guys are brutal lol it’s awesome

    1. Leslie

Nice try. Close, but no cigar.

    2. Mark

“Also, I hope I used commas and apostrophes and capital letters, had good grammar all around really, cause you guys are brutal lol it’s awesome”
Put a period at the end of your sentence! The comment cops are on to you now!

  33. Tim

Honestly filming on the ride shouldn’t be an issue, that’s like having an issue with someone putting their hands in the air? “The phone could fly out and hit someone” guess we should start checking pockets at the top? Things fly out pockets too… I get safety concerns but damn, maybe it’s from having sbit like my mom being accused of trying to kill a kid in one of the wave pools at a Cedar Fair establishment, and we got kicked out for it, even though there was absolutely no proof of it happening (because it didnt)

  34. Joy

Rules are rule! If you don’t like them don’t go.

  35. Lynne

OMG please use correct context!! It’s heedless for goodness sake!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  36. Patty

The wrong vowel makes all the difference.

  37. Robb

Just when I thought they were beheading ill-behaved guests, they let me down.

  38. Zelane

Made me laugh – thanks for the typo

  39. KAA

Well, I see all the other comments were about the heedless headless.

  40. Kim

    Headless?

  41. Had just spent two days at the Point about 2 weeks ago. There coasters are the tallest, fastest, and modern in the world. They give ya free lockers before your in the que.Theres tons of items that fly out of your pockets even secured. Those who disregard there rules should be told bye,and bye

    1. Totally agree.

  42. Bill

    Ah, the dreaded headless guest.

  43. CT

They wrote ‘headless” TWICE…how does this stuff get past anyone else before posting? Not one friend with a basic knowledge of English?

    1. cryptosatan333

It explains at the bottom… The credit was given to a tiktoker… They’re just simply retarded

  44. cryptosatan333

Jesus is it really too woke these days to even “assume” decapitation I mean they say the ride was stopped because of a headless person constantly yet they go on to say they don’t know how or why the ride was stopped…. Oh wait I found the problem…. The sources at tiktoker…. Now I feel bad because I made fun of a retarded person

  45. CT

Why couldn’t the system bring the car down to the operator instead of making him walk all the way up there?

    1. Nancy

That is a very interesting question, they could have had the operator reverse the cars slowly until it got back to where they could just escort him off the ride and then let the ride continue on as if nothing ever happened.

  46. Susan

    I’m pretty sure the guy had a head….. 😂

  47. Dionne

This headine is atrocious. Considering that this park did actually experience an event of this type makes this feel extra toxic & manipulative. This needs changed.

  48. Max

I had to check my phone at New York, New York in Las Vegas, an employee saw me in line using it, I told them that I was going to zip it in my jacket, but they made me put it in a locker, I guess it makes sense, if it did fall off of the coaster it could injure someone, even if it didn’t, there would be no way to find it.

  49. Michael

All I could think was a headless selfie? I can’t stop laughing.

  50. Dawn Watson

Headless? Who wrote this? Who edited this?

  51. Dawn Watson

    Apparently, not an English major

  52. Me

Who was this special guest with the name Guest, and how did he use a phone when he had no head?

  53. Anthony Davis

Dangerous, no need to call folks names.when people ride down the street talking and texting. Say you never did that headless act. Humans? But still very reckless

  54. Tasha

It’s The Exorcist , the reboot.

  55. Andy

Yes, I’ve seen a rollercoaster stopped because of someone with their phone. I was in line for Gate Keeper @ Cedar Point and they stopped it to remove a phone. Then a few trains later they had to stop it again for someone else doing the same thing. They had security escort them away when they got off the ride.

  56. T

Ha. Score another loss for Artificial Intelligence as a writing tool.

  57. Lisa Smith

All I can say if you can’t have a phone on the ride out. Then dont let them take the phone on it.

  58. Sue

Actually,…They were being TOO nice! I think they should have said what these Idiots Are: Brainless, or Dumb, Stupid, Ignorant, or Childish!!!
Good on them, for stopping the coaster!! Rules are there for a reason!!
What doesn’t make sense, and I’m sure not only, My concern, How about the other people that they
“caught on camera,” that they “didn’t catch,”…or that “got away?!”
IF there are many cameras, everywhere in these parks, Why Didn’t they Especially Catch the Disgusting Pig, who exposed himself, and threw things off the ride,…or the others, for that matter!?!?
As stated in the article, many of these people have not been caught? Or charged?!?
If the park cameras saw these things going on,… Why weren’t the police called right away?!?!
Especially in this day and age, There DEFINITELY SHOULD BE More Cameras & Security at these parks!! Our children’s lives depend on it!!!
Parents: Please watch with your kids, sit on rides!!
I know that You’ll All make sure they’ don’t sit anywhere near Any man in one “car” alone!!!
    Have Fun With,…but Extreme Caution!!

  59. “HEADLESS”.
    Its an “adjective”.
Meaning no brains. Not using his head. Not thinking. Not being reasonable. Senseless.

Anyway, never mind the disappointment of the ride. These kinds of people really do not think of the consequences of their actions! They should follow park rules & regulations. These rules are there for a reason. Safety is first!

  60. Miel Mani

“headless”? “headlessly”? The guest was decapitated?!?

  61. Haywood

FOX News is reporting the Guest at Cedar Point Sandusky, OH recording was a 53 year old man named Hunter Biden.

  62. Kevin

Lol half the people in these comments must not have heads or never learned to use them

  63. Anonymous

I read the whole article and I never once thought they meant a guest without a head. Boy! Am I slow! Hehe. I know a lot of people who are headless every day. You people! I can’t stop laughing. Is this a site where everything is supposed to be made into a joke, or are y’all serious?

  64. Mel

Sooo. You’re not allowed to video or take a picture on a roller coaster?? How stupid. We did when I was younger. Alllll the time.

  65. In 2014, I recorded West Coaster on Santa Monica Pier. There were no rules against recording with a phone at this time at that time.

  66. Chris

CP is being more strict than usual because they have had a string of incidents the past few years with things flying off coasters. The dragster threw a part hitting a woman, another man was killed and nearly decapitated after he jumped over a fence to retrieve his phone underneath a coaster (which hit him) and just recently a tire blew off the corkscrew landing on the runway. All of these incidents involved something falling off a ride. No room for error. A cell flying off the magnum xl 2000 could become deadly.

    1. Jess

Get your facts straight. Guy jumps the fence and is killed by his own Stupidity! Nothing ‘ fell’ off Raptor! Dragster was not the fault of CP. Their safety record is superior compared to other parks!

  67. Jake

Author is a huge p*ssy… big deal someone wanted to record a roller coaster

  68. Lorrie

Wow, this is a really cheap shot to get more people to click on your article. Or, if this wasn’t intentional then whoever spell checked really needs to rethink their occupation. Sad, horrible way to try to garner attention.

  69. Ashley Reynolds

I totally thought this was a sarcastic response. Ì did not know recording yourself on a rollercoaster was that big of a deal unless the phone could fly out and kill someone. Even if he broke a rule, I would think a warning would be sufficient for first action, and to demand to hand over your phone, please. Wtf happened to this world.

  70. victoriousviva99

    Heedless not headless!!

Please note the incorrect spelling used several times.

    Thank you.

  71. DMJ

This post made my day. Funniest misspelling I’ve seen in a long time. I literally LOL.

  72. Phil

I was in line waiting for a coaster when the car was going up the first hill and a guest stood up on the roller coaster. The guest and his family were escorted out of the park after he got off the coaster.

  73. NiuCoils

I don’t know what makes me angrier. The ridiculous overreaction to a cell phone or the article that makes it sound like a decapitation.

  74. PDR

I’m 60 years old and have seen cameras and phones out on coasters many times. I have also seen many videos of people enjoying the ride. This isn’t a deadly situation. Ok let’s hear the righteous now.

  75. Light

Since there are videos and subsequently $ to be made shooting videos of coasters, shouldn’t the theme park ban these videos because it only encourages others to take some of their own? They won’t of course because it brings more people to their parks.

  76. John smith

This is what happens when you fail as a parent. You raise a disrespectful piece of S*** that needs an as* whipping. Most of these people are born after about 1975.

  77. Absolutely stupid evryone filma their ride on roller coasters have for years even the news people when thw do the 1st ride on mew coasters amd put it om tv
