Ummm…. theres an emergency kit under the seat in every Gondola that contains water and other items in case they get stuck in the heat. I ride the Skyliner all the time and fortunately have never had to use it. But it definitely would suck to get stuck in the afternoon heat. That’s for sure!
In 2018 my family and I got stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean for almost 2 hours! I’m grateful we were not stuck in the heat, but the poor kiddo sitting behind us had to go to the bathroom. His dad asked them for help but no one could do anything. We didn’t even had a bottle to offer so he had to pee off the side of the boat into the water while I distracted my three young children, who by the way never knew what was happening behind them.
Eventually they waded into the water and pulled our boats back to a spot of the ride where we could exit. It was actually neat to walk amongst the props of the ride and see behind the scenes. We came out behind the ride where guests never see and were given water, ice cream bars, and they added an extra fast pass to our magic bands.
At that point I was disappointed that we lost 2 hours of fun time but felt like they at least tried to make it up to us. I’m not a fussy person and try to make the best out of things. But when we tried to use the fast pass it didn’t work . I told the worker what had happened and they suggested we go talk to customer service. I dropped it at that point. I was absolutely angry now, but there was no way I was going to lose more of our precious time standing in a customer service line to complain.
I’ve always wished I could share this story, glad to finally get it off my chest!
