You can’t be serious, a dangerous place? You know nothing. Disney is full of actors and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a group hired to be there like in Virginia.
Disney is absolutely missing the mark. As a Disney adult (and an old one, at that), I have money to spend on what I want in the parks. By pandering to families, they’re missing the real money. Parents don’t want to spoil their kids. We old folks have no problem spoiling ourselves on vacation.
Disney is experiencing 20% drop in June attendence because they plaster rainbows and gay pride all over the place. Families don’t want their kids around that, it’s pretty obvious. But no one wants to say it.
So all you fat racist bigots have nothing better to do then bash the LGBT people but not bad about your straight people. Please shut up and move on
Jerks
Zach is obvious a single person who lives in fantasy. Removing Disney from its core audience is absurd. Right now it’s trending at a 20% loss but any more tweaks it will ratchet up closer to 60%. Let’s face it, there are far more families than there are single adults that have a penchant for Disney
I agree. I highly doubt the “rainbow” in inclusion accounts for much loss if any. Except in Florida where there seem to be a lot of close minded bigots.
Stop listening to the leftist propaganda! Florida is a wonderful state that caters to tourists. Disney needs to step back from the wokeness cliff, and pack away the pRiDe BS.
You don’t cater to families/children…10-20 years from now what adults will be wanting to go there to fulfill nostalgia. It’s a cycle and Disney knows this.
The biggest problems for Disney are the very high prices for everything, from park tickets to food to accommodations, and the excessive push for agendas that most parents and grandparents don’t want for their children. Let the kids deal with adult decisions when they are adults themselves, and make the part accesible to middle class America.
Well since Disney is punishing me for not having children, they can keep all the crazies they want since I won’t be allowed to visit during the only time I have off the entire year.
Disney has always been an expensive compared to any theme park. Most of you folks weren’t around in the 70s and 80s. You can’t compare today’s prices to yesteryears. Do you think if a house cost 20,000 back in the day? There still would be people scrambling to make ends meet.
Pushing their woke agenda certainly isn’t helping. I really don’t think a FAMILY park should be pushing the gay pride as hard as they have. I really don’t want to explain to my kids (while at a family attraction) why that male castmember is wearing a dress and makeup. Really Disney? Walt would be rolling over in his grave.
YES!!! And if the mouse don’t stop pushing this perversion, he will die from hunger. I know I don’t want to have to explain this crap to my 7 year old little girl.
It’s been 25 yrs since I first went to Disney World in Orlando, Fl. My Paw Paw took me, he pass a few years back. I will never forget my first time I got to see the Mouse in his actual house and next door was Mini’s house. I got both of their signatures. I have been back 2-3 times in the past five years and I will say it has been a extremely expensive and when we go we definitely avoid the Pride month or anything to do with that at all possible. The two major things that’s not hurting Disney it’s KILLING it by slow death is pushing conservative families away and the working man who wants to give his family a life time of memories. If Disney really wants to make tons and tons of money reverse course on those two things and you will see profits double if not triple over night. Hope this helps!
Dangerous? Stop pushing that BS narrative. Love him or hate him, Disney should be grateful that Desantis was governor during COVID because they were able to continue operation in the state. The real issue is they are pricing out families and alienating more conservative ones by involving themselves in politics which multi billion dollar companies that do tons of sketchy stuff behind closed doors should not do. A one day ticket to magic kingdom for one person is pushing towards $200. But sure…cater to the wealthy elite and leave middle class families and their CHILDREN that they pretend to care about in the dust.
Growing up in a lower middle class family my childhood fantasy was to go to Disneyland (no Dworld when I was a kid in the late 50s and 60’s) but an untouchable one at that. When my husband and I were in Tampa at spring games 3 years ago we ventured to Orlando but for just a day. As a senior citizen it still is magical but expensive! They are missing out on a big demographic by not having senior citizen rates. Seniors have more open times to go, wouldn’t use all of the parks or rides and be willing to spend more in the nicer restaurants. For you haters out there, my husband and I are active seniors and not walking around with walkers or wheelchairs. There are lots of seniors like us who were not able to have this huge childhood dream. But right now the governor there has ruined the entire state for us and now he’s going to take down Disney. So sad.
Family of 5. We used to visit Disney World a few times per year and we’ve taken a couple of Disney Cruises. We’d see Disney in Ice every year.
Since Disney has been shoving their agenda down my throat, I have little desire to spend money on Disney. I visit WDW to get away from real life, not to have their politics shoved in my face at every turn. I’ll always love Disney but right now, you can catch me at the beach where it’s peaceful. Hopefully Disney will find it’s way back by dropping ALL agendas and steering clear of politics.
I agree with (most) of the commentary it statutes with pausing the sale of annual pass holder tickets, removing fast passes, and introducing genie service, park reservations, movie and park initiatives that are not kid-friendly, and the most significant factor, economics is destroying the very thing Disney was built on. I hope the executives rethink their strategy and step back and look at ways to reintroduce the very things that made families want to go back to the parks. It’s a mess!
Agree Completely With ” Disney has become part of the go woke to go broke crowd. Pandering to the .5% percent of population alienates the other 95.5% of park visitors.” I worked at Disney and continued to go after I left being a Disney Addict.. NO MORE !!!!!!
June is Pride Month and Disney has promoted Pride month with special souvenirs desserts and other things. The silent majority who feel “Live and let live” as long as it doesn’t interfere with me and my family, have chosen to stay away from a place that is forcing them to spend their “happy family time” in what they find in very uncomfortable situation. Sometimes when you say you are being inclusive you are actually excluding a whole lot more people who just want to live their lives . After all there are 11 other months to have “happy family time”
As a disney adult CM alumni. I get asked why do I still waste my money on Disney.. I tell them cause I know what it truly stands for. And no difference than any other company with making some bad choices. They have done it. If I boycotted everything I didn’t like I would have a boring life. But disney really needs to think what would Walt do to fix this mess up. They need to go back to the Disney look where guests enjoyed attending the parks. Customer service was by far the best. Quit caving in to all the pride BS because someone was offended. They are there to work..make money and be part of the dream. I don’t care what your pronouns are or what you want to be. But if you are a male you will be wearing pants…no dresses, unless in a musical and the character calls for a certain look. Enough is enough. Each land has a certain costume designed for it. And they have a costume design company right at the MK. They can make them a costume if they want to be some that usually is not their sex. Also it is extremely hard planning a disney vacation. Reservations suck..especially with predicting the weather in Florida. Prices are high but will still pay them. I go usually 1-2 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time. But lately been switching between the dinsey cruise line and the parks. If they would adjust using the nostalgia of the past with the technology of the present they would be on top again. Families want to try and relax on vacation as much as possible…which my opinion is non existence in a disney vacation..lol. Just get rid of the BS woke crap…leave our beloved characters alone, bring back the disney look or at least adjust to it reasonably. Get rid of Reservations and all the extra expenses and more will want to come back. I still love disney and always will.
Yes and to add to your comment I don’t want to add more stress or complications to my vacation by having to worry about booking Genie+ morning of spending yet more $$$. Bring back the old fast part pre booking FP ways!!
A lot of good points in the article. Numerous comments state that if Disney doesn’t market to kids, there will be no future adults wanting to go to the parks. I disagree with this. Many of us current adults were not able to go to the parks as children and are happy to go now and spend whatever we want. I wasn’t marketed to as a child either. If it’s a quality place for entertainment, people who can afford it will come regardless of exposure to the marketing as a child.
1. Fl is not anymore dangerous than the rest of the country, stop pushing that agenda
2. Disney is messing up big time in multiple ways. Families have always been the target audience. Focusing on single adults will not get them any future guests and pricing out the families that actually do want to go and spend bank like they always have is absolutely ridiculous.

Disney needs everyone to come. But keep out trouble makers, pickpockets, anyone up to no good! And do a better job on screening new CM’s.
Steve
If the kids don’t come now they won’t come as adults later. Focus on rich adults is a short sighted strategy.

Biggest reason is the price, $138 a day for one park?? People can’t afford that. Also, Pride stuff everywhere!!!

that means FL lost tax money from losing tickets. Maybe disney parks have to lay off employees. is that right?
