There’s nothing wrong with moderate drinking at Epcot. However, there probably needs to be more security throughout the park (I mean considerably more) so that when an incident arises, they can quickly act to deter the situation and escort those individuals off property pronto. If those individuals need to be banned from the park for life, then so be it. Let’s not take away a good time from the responsible adults at the park.

We rarely go to Epcot anymore due to the excessive use of alcohol resulting in bad behavior and the sight of guests vomiting in the bushes and other places. Walt meant for Disney to be a family friendly place and the abusive use of alcohol has destroyed this viewpoint.

Agreed! Absence of accountability promotes bad behavior! People need to quit their crying. Adults need to be accounted for their own behavior! We don’t need Disney destroying our god given rights. If people don’t like it go to LegoLand!

    3. Rich

I suggest you move to Russia where they can operate a dictatorship as you imply!

    4. Dennis

Why do you need to drink to have a good time.?

  2. Gustavo

Basta de alcohol descontrolado, es una imagen deprimente que ahuyenta a las familias de terminar el día en este hermosa parque temático

  3. Gary

Its about time and Walt did not want alcohol so Disney is disobeying him!

    1. The Truth

I’ve seen two unruly people in 25 years of going to Epcot. Both were dealt with swiftly by their group, security and the sheriff.

    2. I agree 100%

    3. Rich

I agree Carol I think we just have a bunch of Karen’s in these comments.

    4. Ret

And you must be in a sleepy fog.

    5. Never a problem. Only problem I have is leaving the park to smoke. There are plenty of places where they can put smokers. No one would know.

EPCOT used to have a very lovely food and wine festival. Last time we did Disney we were there (unfortunately) during the festival. It was a disgrace. People throwing their trash everywhere, bumping into and literally stepping on us. Part of the problem is marketing it to college students…have you seen the “I drank my way around the world ” t-shirts. There are too many of the pop up venues; just another way to make $$, but using up all the walking areas. It’s too much excess in what should still be a family friendly park.

  5. James

It’s just like any other place it’s up to the staff to control the intake

  6. James

Many of the foreign workers drink around the world at the end of there stay and intoxicated ok but same stuff happens in all other parks Disney and universal

The Cast Members serving alcohol should be considered bartenders. If a bartender at an outside place of business can cut off a patron from drinking too much, then a cast member should be able to do the same thing.
No person visiting Epcot should be allowed to consume more alcohol than they can handle. Guests should drink responsibly and it should be posted at any place where alcohol is served. Cast Members and security should be hyper aware of the way guests are acting when they are serving them alcohol.

  8. Good grief. These puritanical busy bodies need to chill out. There’s a huge percentage of Disney kids that grew up to be Disney adults. Many of us enjoy the adult beverages available around the World. Also; the overwhelming majority of us can enjoy those drinks while not creating any issues whatsoever. Don’t judge Disney drinkers on the less-than-one-percent who get out of line.

So you are NOT a Walt Disney fan!!

  9. Dan

I avoid the World Showcase in the evenings, it reminds me of spring break in college. Fun in my 20’s, but not so much fun having to explain to my children why adults act that way.

    1. S Stewart

I just don’t go to Epcot after lunch. I have never understood why you want to drink at Disney.

Not the alcohol drinks causing problems at Disneyland parks.
It the people of the USA bad behavior in the Parks
OUR SOCIETY IN AMERICA IS THE WORST IN HISTORY OF AMERICA!
The laws and Congressman Supreme Courtss have sided with the American people allowing Just about everything that’s destroying AMERICAN CULTURE AND SOCIETY
No death penalty most States. LGBT and other laws allowing the institution of marriage and decay of moral conduct. Jail time has a revolving door
    BAD PEOPLE BAD BEHAVIOR
The United States Government has allowed this decay in America & the American way of life we once knew to where people are acting out in a disgusting manner in public I’ve seen the fights at Disneyland and shuffled my children away from it. This should not be happening in the park it’s a kid’s park. He goes back to our government allowing anything and everything by law for a change for the worst,
Still stopping the sale of liquor inside the Disneyland Parks is not going to stop the violence. The violence has been created by our government by allowing laws and people’s behavior towards same sex same marriage let the criminals out of jail or prison. No penalties for people’s actions like prison time no death penalty people just don’t care anymore they’re going to do it because they know it’s a revolving door at the prison and jails I can rant on forever the government has created this problem. America Has Changed the people have changed since the 1950 the people have allowed themselves in the United States to be the worst on the planet my opinion.

Don’t forget to blame the internet. Everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame. You can be an as#$<&[e and not get punished, then get famous.

  11. Wayne

Amazing American peoples Behavior has become disgusting due to changes in the law due to changes in the American laws.
Family life education Congress Supreme Court Divorce Court child welfare Court welfare systems are all disgusting forms of government that is just all wrong causing all the fighting miscommunication between people people just hate people in America is what I see hate distrust hating government just trust government news agencies all lying our presidential and White House news is not news taking sides against one president to the other and see how bad one can make the other one look before a presidential election with no truth to their story just the possibility that’s not right America is Its Own Worst Enemy at this point 2023

I dont drink but I dont blame those that do at Epcot. They need something to deal with the negative Nancys and Karens that want everything changed at the parks. With actual serious problems going on around the world like a madman in Russia with his finger on the button where he could end us all, people are going to complain about others having fun on a vacation.

I have seen the lightweights of Disney, and it is somewhat funny to watch people that have drinking around the world shirts that can’t make it past 3 countries being lucid. Disney is ultimately a family destination, I know people lately said it is for everyone, to an extent that is true, but Walt was wanting this to be a family destination first. Adults be responsible. Nothing wrong with having a drink, know your rational limit not to be an idiot and if something happens you are not useless but useful. These kids watch you, especially you parents. This all goes back to personal responsibility. Have a good one!

  14. Tom

We have a state rule…no selling alcohol to an obviously inebriated person. Anyone monitoring that at Disney?

  15. The Truth

Oh heavens, a tshirt! Go away Karen.

  16. Lay down and take a nap, someone’s cranky.

  17. Tammie Schmidt

I go to Disney almost every week. I have never seen one person too intoxicated. If they take out alcohol then I won’t be going. I only have 1 to 2 drinks and I need that just to make it through the crowds. Lol!

  18. Teresa

I am at Epcot at least once every two weeks or so….
I have never seen anyone overly intoxicated to where I thought…this person is done and needs to go home. NEVER!
I haven’t even noticed someone that was tipsy…unless it was me. LOL
I think people are being a little hypersensitive to the consumption of alcohol by park goers….if it’s not for you, don’t do it…but don’t try to force others to follow your suit.

  19. Rick Recker

Love Epcot and go frequently. Never once have I seen the behavior described. And let’s face it. Epcot is more for adults then children anyway. More of the minority trying to change things for the majority.

  20. Harvey

I don’t drink but look at this logically. Epcot is the most adult park and has the most alcohol consumption, most children don’t even like this park. Magic Kingdom has the least alcohol and is primarily designed for children. These are obvious statements. Here’s the issue, where are we having the most fights and totally unacceptable behavior? Magic Kingdom. The problem isn’t alcohol but may be strollers as people keep getting hit by strollers leading to a more aggravated attitude. It could also be the entitled attitude of guests feeling other’s don’t count and everything should be their way since they paid so much. Guess what, so did the other guests. E
We as a public need to start thinking about the other person and how our actions will effect them. Alcohol isn’t the problem, we are.

Disney is not going to kill a cash cow!!
Drink prices at Disney are crazy expensive because of the Disney mark up. Any other bar would charge half the cost Disney charges. I wouldn’t be opposed to a link on a MagicBand to limit the number of drinks per person per hour, altho there are numerous ways to circumvent any limits.
