My wife and I are both in handicap scooters. When we are in line she stays as much as she can to the left, and I stay as much as I can to the right. This makes it almost impossible for anybody to get around us to cut in line. We will only move if asked by a cast member.
You’d get out of my way. Perhaps stop trying to dictate what others do any worry about yourself. You aren’t stopping cutting, you being a hazard. No wonder why all those gigantic people to big to walk expect everyone to getbout of their way. They can go around just like everyone else. Treat everyone the same I say.
All of the misspelled words in that alleged sign that is in quotes. I highly doubt that was the sign they saw, if they even saw a sign. Why wouldn’t there be signs at every venue? This is not true. Must have been a sign some guest put up
If you are a party of four or fewer I don’t see anything wrong with one or two getting in line while others run to the bathroom or get some snacks. Especially if the wait is 60 minutes plus. Is it really going to slow down my wait time, no. What I don’t agree with are a few people getting in line and then a whole group of people show up, this does effect wait times. These are the people that should be together as a group when they enter.
I agree with you. Especially if you have children that need to go to the restroom. I have no problem with that. Yes a whole group maybe coming off another ride, YES problem.
Completely flawed logic. You’re basically saying you’re entitled to skip the line but others aren’t. Group size doesnt matter. Neither do your personal needs or interests. You are not so special that you get to go enjoy yourself while others have to wait in line. Nothing entiles you to this, especially Group size. Wait in line like everyone else.
Lets just test your logic a bit. Lets say there are 300 guests in line. Lets be generous and say 1/10th of those people are holding a place for other people in their group. Even if it was just one person being added to the line, thats 30 freaking people just cutting in line cause they think their time is more valuable than everyone else’s. Since we know its almost always more than one person, that number in reality is exponentially more.
Your logic is typical, thinking only of yourself. Completely ignores the big picture. But Im guessing that never concerned you to begin with. Otherwise you would have come to this conclusion yourself
My sister and I stood side-by-side in order to block a line cutter at a very popular ride. The line cutter just went to get a cast member to make us let her through. More interested in avoiding conflict over following fair policies.
Or your behavior was inappropriate and the cast member corrected the problem. Contrary to your belief, you don’t know everything about every person’s situation. You don’t know why that person wasn’t in line the whole time. They could have been ill, they could have autism, they could have had to take care of another family member before being able to join- or wait for one parent to show to sit with another family member who has a disability that prevents them from waiting in line for more than 20 minutes. Until you become omnipotent perhaps you should try to live with love in your heart instead because you don’t know everything about everyone.
Oh please don’t give me that if they have a disability excuse. THATS JUST BULL SH**. I have a disability and I’m perfectly fine waiting in a ride line with everyone else. you pay to get in and ride on rides. So don’t cause any ruckus while waiting. It’s that easy. And people like you RAE are part of the problem. Like just don’t even speak okay great! You wouldn’t know unless it happens or has happened to you and have to live with it. I hate people like you. 😒
Not always my experience. If it’s one or two people that are trying to get through after having to use the restrooms or something, they might, but we had an entire party cut in front of us and were given a line pass to use later.
The signs don’t help much. We were in Disney World in January and the signs were up. Line cutting was still a huge problem. We told people who passed us in line they couldn’t do it and they just got mad and did it anyways. It happened many times while we were there.
Yes, it’s definitely an issue. But I’ve used it to my advantage, I cut a 2-hour wait for avatar one morning by just waving and smiling to some imaginary people ahead of me and walked right through the queue. I think some parents try to use it as an example of “teamwork”, but it is against the rules for good and obvious reasons.
It becomes a problem when a large group cuts the line but when is 2 or 3 ppl ehhh. They should have a cast member in every venue once you enter you can’t cut or get out of line cause you’ll loose your spot and be asked to exit.
Line cutting was awful for the character greets at the Halloween parties. I missed a photo opportunity with Maleficent because when I waited in line it wasn’t very long, problem was as soon as one person reached her, 5-10 others would join that person.l, and then she had to leave per her schedule before I made it to the front of the line.
It happened all the time to us in Disneyland recently. It’s very rude and disrespectful to the people that have been standing in line for a lengthy period of time.
Line cutters were up on the rails and climbing over to get to their party . One kicked my child in the head and gave him a 2 inch cut. I wish there were a better way to meet the needs of families.
I am not in support of anyone cutting lines. If you choose to split your group upon entering the queue, the lead party should come back to the trailers, if they want to stay together. I don’t believe anyone should be banned from the park for line cutting. CM’s should escort any line cutters to the front of the park and let them start all over.
As a parent of an autistic kid who CAN’T stand in line for 2-3 hours or more (unless you want him to meltdown and ruin your trip as well) me standing in line for a while and he joining me later just makes sense. I fail to see how that’s line cutting. Someone in their party waited all that time with you. What does it matter if my child doesn’t? Whiny people man. Little whiny people. SMH.
If only Disney had a program where people with disabilities AND their party could go through LL and not have to wait in standby…oh, wait. They do. How about that?
No, B is right. Just like every other place in this country, you wait your turn. Need to pee? Plan ahead better. It tells you the approximate wait time. Need food or bathroom breaks? Take care of it before you cut other people that took care of their needs before entering.
I recently went to Disneyland and stood in line with my kid for almost 35 minutes unfortunately my kid needed to pee. So we asked a cast member if I could step out of line and come back to my party if they were still in line they said yes. But when we tried to come back it was people giving us a hard time getting back to our group when the cast members approved it. So situations like that I think should be accepted but line jumping with 4-8 people definitely should be looked at and shouldn’t happen since the lines are already a tight squeeze sometimes and does cause a delay in the lines for other people.
I think with something like that you should be given a ticket or something. I went to a con and stood in an autograph line. The guy had to leave and come back so everyone was given a numbered ticket to rejoin the line.
Line cutting? Absolutely!!! Price Gouging? Definitely!!!
Shut Down Rides? Always!!
Wheelchair/stroller Theft? Yep!!! Enough Lockers in California? Nope! Cell Phone dead Batterys? Yes! I’d rather take my family to Knotts Berry Farm or Universal Studios…trust me its cheaper & much more FUN!!!
You were entering the The cars ride and there were two boys in front of us. Halfway through the ride broke down for about fifteen , twenty minutes. When we finally got to the front of the staircase 6 friends these boys friends cut in front of in front of us. All excited about getting on the right. I told the cast member and she looked at me puzzled and they still got on the ride .Believe me we aren’t happy. They need a camera at that staircase our sooner.
I don’t mind if one or two people have to leave the line, especially if one of them is a child or has a disability. The only time I was really upset was one day when there was a person in line in front of us who brought in a party of like 10 people when she was close to the front. My husband spoke up and we got fast passes for another ride. If it does happen to you, don’t be afraid to tell a cast member. They may not always be helpful about it, but often they are.
We paid $50 for Lightening Lane to ride the new Runaway Railway in Disneyland. But ended up behind a Father/Toddler combo that boldly climbed the railing that separated us from the Standby Line. There should be a second Lightening Lane check for people like this.
I had a group of teens try to cut the line in front of me saying their mother was ahead. They ended up getting their mom on the phone to which I said, “if you were so concerned about your children being with you, you should have waited for them on the line”. Needless to say we didn’t let them pass. People cheered around me and when we got to the break for the fast pass (yes it was back in the good old days) I could see the kids trying to get the cast member to let them pass, but she didn’t let them on until well after we had all gone in front of them. I have no idea where the mom was. Maybe on the end of the line 😂.
I was in line at Disney world & told a staff about not just one or 2 people but like whole families, that I watched hanging out in shade while we’re all in line in the sun, while they would have like one person in line and actually call them when they got up to the inside…. It was actually a common theme the last time I was at Disney world. I told a cast member in person one time in line for Ratatouille ride. Nothing happened. Not fair when I have to stand in line in the hot sun for over a hour than so should anyone else unless you purchased a genie option. However, I also chatted on the Disney app with a cast member because I was so frustrated with how how much line jumping there was. And still got no answer besides sorry to hear about your experience?… I thought with the money were paying for aleven just a 4day park ticket & travel from New York I would have had a little more magical experience, however, that was not the case. I felt like my concern didn’t matter, I didn’t feel comfortable saying anything to the people cutting in line because I didn’t way to start a problem or argument, that’s why I went to cast member & chatted cast member with no resolve… Was very sad to feel that way.
Line cutting has gotten worse and along with the unfortunate increase in non handicap people tooling around at 30mph in personal electric vehicles, line cutting is one of the worst things in the park. And it’s always entitled duck bags, who think ” catching up with their party” is somehow “not really” line cutting. Do you notice that you almost never see a group letting people pass them until the dolly-bag waits in line and catches up with them? Just like the apple-hole that speeds down the closed lane on the highway to jam their way into the line, there will always be the self centered donut wads trying to cut around you because somehow their time is more important than yours. I would pay 50 bucks more per day if there was some type of zero tolerance (try it once your kicked out of the park without refund) policy that was rigorously enforced. You really have to have your happy place warmed up or these frosty-heads can ruin your good mood.
I’ve seen this multiple times in Disney World. I wasn’t even aware there were sign’s for it, which means they probably are not working too great. I think a castmember at the beginning of the queue should ask parties if they have all members present, and let them know they cannot enter the queue until they are all present.
I know people just want to save time waiting in line, but we are all in the same boat. And no one is that special unless they can afford the VIP tour.
Sounds like if someone in your party needs the bathroom, and someone else needs a snack, and someone else can’t handle long waits, them maybe, just maybe, your party wasn’t ready to enter the queue in the first place.
I think there are a million excuses of why everyone else should be accommodating of line cutting behavior, but it is really a repeat of the old wheel chair policy that used to get wildly abused until it was eventually outlawed.
This has turned into an issue for both sides of the coin. And to be honest it is a side effect of a couple things on the actual line cutters and the self appointed line police. Somewhere in the last 20 years of social media an entire generation and now a second generation has lost their ability to understand the world does not cater to them, people have no social skills to interact with others and there is no respect for their fellow human. Line jumping has always been an issue but it was the rarity not the norm. What needs to happen is there be no choice to stay home for work, get back to basic interpersonal teaching in kindergarten and remedial classes all the way through college until the kindergartens that started this make it to college. Next we need to limit our time on social media and go out and interact with other people with different views and opinions. Finally, people need to learn that they are not the most important person in nature. This applies to the self appointed line police as well. However also add that people have reasons for things as well. I have seen several examples listed here already. I will add to it as well. Because of medical condition I may have to leave a long line to go to the bathroom or I may need to take a medication that can not be taken in a line. 1 or2 people returning to their family is not an issue especially if it is a young child. Now the single rider line is if you leave the line you are stuck at the back because it is single rider and you are not with a group.
We were just in Dismey World last week. About 10 teenagers were in line in front of us. It was a long wait. Slowly two or three would cut in line to join them. We were in line about 30 mins when 6 come piling through the line and want to join them. My husband stood firm and told them “no”. They backed down. The cast members were not stopping it. I never mind if someone leaves to go to the bathroom. That is never an issue. But 6 or 8 piling in just should not happen.
I saw a few people cutting the line at disney to get with their group. Even saw one dude and his son smoothly step over the chain into the lightning lane. Neither bothered me much as it wasn’t rampant but just a few people here and there and probably didn’t slow the line significantly. What really bothered me was the amount of people trying to cut check out lines where it does make a difference. That said, I figured out the optimal way to use genie plus and was able to lighting lane every ride legitimately inside of a 2 hour window. For the few who actually read this comment, I’m not sure if this is a glitch or the way it’s meant to be done but not 1 video or article I read mentioned it. If you land a lightning lane due to a closed ride, DO NOT WASTE IT. I discovered if you have an attraction booked on genie plus, no matter the timeframe, scanning the lightning lane will use that reservation and you will still have the lightning pass to use. You can then immediately book another ride with genie+ and repeat the process. If you don’t have the ride booked, it will use the lightning pass. This made my day effortless with minimal wait times in crazy Monday crowds and lines up to 135 minutes
We are at Disneyland-California this week. One issue we have seen is people getting into the Lightning Lane and then only “pretending” to scan their ticket, phone, etc. and simply walking past the monitor. They simply do not seem to have enough CM’s monitoring the scanning area for lightning lanes to prevent this from happening. At the Matterhorn, they had 1 CM trying to monitor 3 lightning lane scanners doing her best.
We have also noticed people who have walked in through the standby line and then jumped into the lightning lane once past the scanners. Disneyland should also consider adding a 2nd lightning lane scanner somewhere down the line to prevent this from happening if they are serious about this problem.
Yes line cutting especially when large group from other countries have a few wait in line then call the rest when there close to the front then you have fifty or sixty people cut line
I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely can i encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you could have hit the nail to the head. Your concept is outstanding; the thing is an issue that inadequate consumers are speaking intelligently about. We’re very happy which i came across this inside my search for something concerning this.

It’s about time! Way too many large parties leave one person while the rest go get food, etc and come back acting entitled to jump ahead.

I was just at the parks 2 weeks ago and had a line cutter go past me on the single rider line!

Way to be a jerk… People have legitimate reasons to leave and come back in these long lines. A child needing to run to the bathroom for an example.
Not to mention a fire hazard.

Really easy to fix. Guests get a wrist band, the paper kind you get at clubs. You get to the front of the line and don’t have one you don’t get on.

Maybe Disney cast members can give restroom passes or tickets with numbers to those who have to leave the line and then come back.
Then they turn it back into cast members upon return. Other than that, NO LINE CUTTTING

Yup. People on their phones getting direction to meet up with their friends up front. Amazing how self centered so many people are.
