Desantis needs to be more concerned about the cost of insurance and benefits to the people of Florida than fighting Disney who employs 75,000 people in Florida.

    1. Dawn

      agree
and water quality, affordable housing for our first responders and other essential workers

    2. Kc

Walt Disney has more supporters than DeSantis. Florida will take a huge fall without Disneyland tourism and Disney employs massive families livelihood. I pray God’s will be done in the battle between the 2 power horses.

      1. Disney Danni

Disney’s executives also make up more than half of outgoing salaries. So their tax breaks and little games they have been playing for years kept workers making $10 an hour and living in poverty. Now they finally have to own it. What makes them any more special than Universal? Maybe if they’d pay their share, not pay their execs as much, get back to caring about guest they’d start to do better again.

        1. Keith

Disney is the largest taxpayer in Florida and one of the largest employers. Disney got tax breaks because they gambled on turning thousands of acres of swampland into the massive income generator for Florida and all the people it employed and the businesses that were created to serve Disney. Never forget Disney is the number one reason tourists come to Florida to spend their money

      2. CrankyRacoon

Florida has done just fine without Disneyland.

        1. Dan

Really? Number 1 private employer, I believe. Tourism is our main source of income and Disney is the #1 attraction. Wake Up!

        2. Marie

Disney has been here over 50 years!! They are the number one employer in Florida. Florida would not be fine without Disney

        3. Lynn E

You think it would be fine having 75,000 workers out of a job if Disney wasn’t here in FL. Not only Disney employees,, but hotel employees,, restaurant employees and many other businesses that depend on tourism.. They also pay billions (yes, with a ‘B’) in tax $$. Do you think Universal, Sea World, Legoland and other attractions would be here if it weren’t for Disney being here? Before Disney came here there was Weiki Wachee and Busch Gardens. That it! FL has grown and been profitable by many businesses BECAUSE OF DISNEY!! Get your head out of your butt and look around. If Disney decides its going to leave FL, it will be catastrophic to our economy.

    3. Kristie

People we need to stick together Desantis claims he’s a chirstian why is he taking matters into his own hands it’s for God to be the judge he needs to hit his knees an cry out to God for better leadership he’s taking Florida down by coming against Disney and why bother them anyway they take care of their own he’s wanting brownie points wrong way to go about them he doesn’t have my vote from Florida and I’ve been sent several emails asking to Donate to him no I don’t think so he has got the big head now egotistical wow God is going to knock him too his knees lord have mercy

    Administration Crumbling??? Come on man.

This story was clearly written with a left bias.

    1. Roy

      Mans a lunatic

      1. AH

        Wrong

        1. TW

          Right.

    2. Mike

Are you blind? This guy is thin skinned, extreme and a dictator. His campaign is crashing.

      1. AH

        Also wrong.

        1. TW

          He’s a rectal orifice!

        2. DPH

Yes, as usual you are WRONG!

      2. Paul

How is the campaign crashing? Too many people on Twitter at once?

Dictator? He is working with the state legislature and is supported by the vast majority of Florida citizens.

        1. Melinda Yexley

Unless your net worth exceeds 20 million dollars, you are a lemming marching to the sea of your own destruction as a foot soldier for a cause you don’t understand.

          1. MJenkins

A cause we don’t understand? Explain your pov. If you still support Biden, despite the blatant disabuse of his office, if you support Disney being it’s own governing body, enlighten me. I don’t understand that mindset.

        2. WD

DeSantis is not supported by the majority of Floridians. Sadly only slightly more than half of eligible voters voted. Big D won 60% of the 54% who voted. So he’s got about 1/3 of FL on his side, or he did prior to his fascist reign of terror.

    3. Bob Schafer

      I agree…”Administration crumbling”???? Joke.

      1. Gary

How much is this fool of a governor willing to spend of my tax payers money on this. Disney pays there taxes even donated to DeSantis campaign and employees 80k people. If he wins then orange & Osceola County’s are getting a big debt to pay off and more.

    4. AH

Cause he is running for POTUS, they have to bad mouth him. You are correct.

      1. Lynn

Correction. Because of the huge amounts of money he is spending on this little hissy fit and the clearly fascist bills he has been signing right and left. He is clever and very dangerous.

        1. Jennifer Howell

          Agreed!

        2. DPH

          YES he is!!! 100%

    5. CL

DeSantis is a DUFFISTfor the Disney tussle. Govern the real issues not something which harms snd insults real lives. Find some big boy pants and govern for ALL THE PEOPLE!

  3. Russ

He’s a spoiled immature kid not concerned with Fla , voters got fooled and now will pay the price with higher costs

  4. Roy

Ron DeBrainless strikes again … what a raving lunatic this guy is !! Hard to believe anyone as utterly ignorant as he is could ever become governor!! A clear and present danger to our democracy and freedom this clown!!

    1. Merrily Troiani

I agree, I’m really not sure how he became governor, but he is totally ignorant to the problems that Florida has and Disney is not one of them..

  5. Karen

Anyone who thinks about DiSantis in positive terms needs their head examined! The man is a wannabe dictator and exyreme right wing fascist. BE VERY AFRAID OF HIS MACHINATIONS.

    1. Ebrun

      Oh no, not another Karen🙁

      1. Michael Holland

        Karen much?

  6. Remember the saying: Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!

Mickey Mouse and Disney are a major reason for Florida’s growth. Fix the wokeness if you can, but do not destroy Disney. We need that baby!!!

    1. Lynn W

      LOL 😂 exactly

    2. DPH

I would like for any of you “Q” believing, deplorables to tell me how it effects your life, in any way, if Disney has a man dressed as a fairy princess?!? HOW?

  7. Carole Hayward

This guy is a total lunatic with dreams of becoming a dictator. I just can’t believe that people in the legislature approve some of his ideas. Our freedom is being chipped away little by little every day.

    1. peterparker22

Didnt the majority of FL vote him and the state house into office? Seems like more like him and the reps than dont.

You are in the minority, sorry.

      1. h

Only just under 60% of the state actually voted… so a “majority” is a bit rich

  8. Michael Holland

He continues to concentrate on issues that do not help floridians, our home owners insurance is a disaster, red tide is killing our beaches and the businesses that cause it are never held accountable. seniors go hungry, the cost of housing is through the roof, our teachers and children are so confused over what law they have to follow today and this guy wants to be president when he cant even fix the problems of the state he is supposed to be governor of, give me a break! so no to Desantis! Say no to Facism! Say no to this dictator wanna be!

    1. Paul Libovitz

DeSantis is a wannabe dictator and is looking to curtain our freedoms. He soils the office of the Governor will pursuing his fascist policies. Booking banning. What’s next book burning. Are we becoming Germany do the 30’s. Keep your eyes open

      1. tanya cummins

I agree, Paul. It is inconceivable to me that he was voted in again, although most of his dictator postering has come since the vote.

    2. tanya cummins

AMEN to every one of your statements, Michael Holland!

  9. DCM

The Governor really lost his way when he attacked the largest employer in the state that only brings more revenue to the state year over year. If we have a government that cannot take pushback and allow businesses to have an opposing view then we no longer live in a democracy. Whether we agree with Disney or not we need to have a government that respects all views on a position.

  10. K8 Nekuza

He is a tyrant who is trying to destroy Disney He should work on helping Florida get better insurance coverage and stronger infrastructure Cmon people vote smart next time

  11. Renée N Van Den Berg

People need to think ahead and see what he’s doing. It’s very clear to me he’s not looking out for the best of the state of Florida. He is looking out for himself.

  12. DeSantis want let go of the Walt Disney fight because his ‘Narcissist’ behavior won’t allow him to. They hate to lose anything, think they are right about everything, super stubborn, vindictive, like to have their way and never, never will apologize or admit when their wrong. I hopes this ends with ‘victory’ for WDW.

  13. David A

Bring out the rebellion, the Republic must go down. Remove the Death Star, and take down the Emperor. Skywalker we need you!

  14. Mike G

It seems to me that the company that employs 75,000 people, pays billions of dollars in taxes and has literally supported the tourist industry in Central Florida should be thanked for their efforts, not chastised and bullied for their Constitutional right of free speech. Grow up Governor!

  15. Terry

FL. BIG COWARD IS ALL DESANTIS IS

Walt Disney has more supporters than DeSantis. Florida will take a huge fall without Disneyland tourism and Disney employs massive families livelihood. I pray God’s will be done in the battle between the 2 power horses.

  18. Tim

DeSantis didn’t become governor to help Florida, he became governor to push his own agenda and narrow-minded views. He is rich on the power trip but can’t handle anyone that causes confrontation to that. He has no business being governor and definitely not President

  19. Disney Danni

That’s a Cereal thing since insurances pay by Medicare guidelines. And crib a billing standpoint, the influx of Medicaid subscribers sure to not working or immigrants, yes we treat them free, you’re cost absolutely will go UP.

  20. Paul W

I fully expect the next elected governor to drop this silly lawsuit serving no purpose whatever and bring Disney back to its 55 year working model.

  21. Mark Hager

Disney will prevail, all they need to do is play the waiting game.
DeSantis is a term politician with a state’s backing, currently. All Disney has to do is play the waiting game. They wait until a Dem is voted in, or for a Rep that disagrees with him, and there are many, and they are back in the saddle. The people who voted him in this time did not know this would be a thing and I imagine that he is going to lose some voters in a re-election bid

  22. Dr. Manny

I would like to ask those that support DeSantis how they feel that he crafted and passed a law with his legislature that protects him from losing his job if he runs for President. He cleverly did not run till that was in place.

  23. I wish Disney would leave Florida. Then DeSantis can prance around brag that he destroyed Disney and the states economy at the same time. What a hero. I personally would love to see the people of Florida suffer under his dictatorship.

    1. David Dabney

Not a big fan of losing 80k in jobs over a governor’s pet snit. Say NO to MoRon DeathSentence and his fascist agenda!

  24. The mark of a dictator:The state senate is totally republican and the state Supreme Court as well, so how do you expect the laws he wants to pass not not be approved? All the politicians in Tallahassee shake in their boots whenever he speaks.

  25. Alan Wilton

As long as Ron DeSantis is governor and a candidate, then may Florida have MAJOR SUPER HURRICANES and SUPER TORNADOS. such storms should be so terrible that they cannot be measured! Ya’ll voted for the POS SOB so ya’]] deserve such devastation! May Florida come to it’s end and be washed away forever!

  26. Little napoleon wants to change Disney word to Disanntis world and he will gets his way because the state senate and Supreme Court are all republicans. They seem to soil themselves whenever he wants to pass his own laws. When did government acquired the rights to run a private industry?

  27. Dark vader

Yeap and they act like nothing is happening. They feel the pain. They will not admit to it.

  28. Jean

I vote for Disney all the way. As a Floridian I never liked or voted for DeSantis. I don’t believe he has done anything for the people of this state. Homeowner’s and car insurance skyrocketing. Electric bills climbing. All he cares about is woke I don’t even know what it means. Disney employs Floridians, has made Florida what it is. Fills the state coffers. DeSantis just spends our monies on flying immigrants around the country, when he knows that immigrants are the needed workers in many of Floridian businesses. The country does not want or need Ron DeSantis.

  29. Larry Coley

We would not be having this discussion if Ron wasn’t running for President …Period! Ron is violating the law by using out tax dollars to send immigrants to other states. He should be prosecuted and pay up! Ron’s ego to be President has cost us to pay for a world tour for Ron and family to travel from Japan, South Korea, Israel etc…Really a Florida taxpayer should pay for this? …BS…Ron needs to be held accountable along with this state rep and senators who are a rubber stamp for Ron. How many days is he even in the state? Why is he drawing a Florida Salary?

  30. Larry coley

We would not be here if Ron didn’t want to be President and Florida’s legislature wasn’t a rubber stamp! They all need to be held accountable. He violates the law by sending immigrants to other states. Hold those who commit crimes accountable!

  31. Sharrell J Coley

We would not be here if Ron didn’t want to be President and Florida’s legislature wasn’t a rubber stamp! They all need to be held accountable. He violates the law by sending immigrants to other states. Hold those people accountable.
