I wish the issue of unfinished stories, plots, and the sort, was openly addressed with all this. To invest viewing time in a series, then it’s just canceled, is too common and even normalized.
I can understand open ended series ending at any time. Like various series from the past(Tom & Jerry and similar cartoons, Hercules and Xena, Star Trek Next Generation). But now there are many series that run in a linear line story-wise, episode to episode and season to season. To have one abruptly canceled before a grand conclusion is disappointing and more.
