Luke Skywalker IS Star Wars. Obiwan set the standard by assisting Luke through his interactions with Obi-Wan’s force ghost. Later, Yoda, Qui-Gon, and Luke all joined the ranks of force ghost teachers, but this trend “officially” began with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. It only makes sense to continue it, begining with Ashoka, making her the first to be guided by both “alive” Luke Skywalker and force ghost Anakin Skywalker – going back to Luke, Yoda, and Obi-Wan. Here it could also set the stage for the first Father / Son interaction between Anakin and Luke – something fans will talk about for a long time, especially if done “right”.
In future Rey Skywalker movies (Daisy Ridley was fantastic with what she had to work with), that trend of teacher continuing to teach his Padawan from beyond should also continue with Luke assisting Rey as a force ghost.

Keep Luke Skywalker by any means as as commented because he truly Is Star Wars.

    Where are all the men…?

      “The Force is Female.” KK

      1. Me

Since when did the force have a gender?

        1. K Ward

          In the 1970s.

          1. Me

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s not the case

          2. Me

Yeah I’m pretty sure that never happened

I have no problem with any of the actors from the new trilogy whatsoever, the issue in my opinion is that the films were so poorly written that no amount of great acting could have saved them. The first two were so plagiarized that neither felt original and the third was a jumbled mess but was the most original of the three. The made for television Ewok films were better written and better directed.

    1. Dear Disney: Stop making star wars movies and TV shows. You failed miserably. The force is not female. The force is dead. Let it rest in peace.

      1. David

The 3 Disney movies are total garbage from a script standpoint. From a Cinematic perspective the visuals were outstanding. Over 40 years of EU material thrown down the drain to create a WOKE parody of the greatest film franchise ever created

Your opinion is based on the mass internet movement of “star wars” fans. You would love it if certain “fans” loved it. You have no thoughts on your own.

The treatment handed out to Luke Skywalker was deeply disrespectful. The mediocre and agenda driven production at Disney did a GOT season 8 with Star Wars. Disney missed the opportunity to explore Luke’s Jedi Order and demonstrate his legendary Force abilities and wisdom in stories with him as the head of the Jedi Order. Here you have one of the most powerful force wielders of all time, and unlike Windu, Palpatine, Yoda etc, he’s cast aside as a pessimistic regretful and grumpy old hermit with no solution to any problems. All because Kathleen Kenedy was hellbent on promoting a “feminist agenda”. In her creative vision, it was only possible by disgracing Luke skywalker. Star Wars has a fair share of fan favorite powerful female characters with great stories who devoted their abilities through training and not with cheat codes. The stories that they are planning with Rey in Episode 10 onwards, should have been planned with Luke in Ep 7 – 9.

What an arrogant egomaniac you are. And the sequels sucked PERIOD! they weren’t even a trilogy just 3 bad movies.

    3. Nate

Same. Actors are fine, but the writing was so atrocious that I feel the sequel films should just be forgot abs did over.

  4. Robert

We are sad to see Mark Hammil leave and don’t blame him.

Kathleen Kennedy is going to continue destroying Star Wars.

    1. Brian Welborn

Looking back as a 10 yr old leaving the theater after ROTJ I always wanted more
If Lucas had continued it then probably would have been good but ever since I saw TPM in 99 I realized the magic was over. Should have just left it alone

  5. Dear Disney: Stop making star wars movies and TV shows. You failed miserably. The force is not female. The force is dead. Let it rest in peace.

    1. T

Dude, in the original trilogy, the movies that started it all, Luke literally tells Leia that she has the force. Please explain to me again how the force is a patriarchy? Lol.
      Moron.

      1. Me

Incorrect. Luke never tells Leia she has the force it was only assumed when he tells her she’s his sister.

  6. Danger

We need Luke, we need Mark Hamill.

  7. John Boy

Luke Skywalker still lives in the Mandoverse.

Luke Skywalker was gone in the Last Jedi. There was only Jake Skywalker left. Why would Mark Hamill want to play Jake Skywalker again.

  8. Mark Graff

Fart. Hamill can stay home. They can deepfake him and his voice until the cows make blue milk. No one needs him.

    1. Peter Parker

Fat? Wow. Can’t wait till you start aging if you think he is fat. Lmfao.
Ur in for a more miserable existence then u sound right now. Lol

  9. DooM

I guess the real question here is: does anyone even care anymore? I’ve reached the apathetic stage of fandom. I’ll watch the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy, and maybe Rogue One, but that’s it. After that, I just don’t care anymore. Star Wars is dead.

    1. Free to Think

      Do you mean the prequels?

  10. Brian

Looking back as a 10 yr old leaving the theater after ROTJ I always wanted more
If Lucas had continued it then probably would have been good but ever since I saw TPM in 99 I realized the magic was over. Should have just left it alone

  11. John

Star wars fan here and I love all the new stuff being put out there the more the better 😁

    1. Obi-Wan

Liar. No Star wars fan likes the last jedi and the character assassination they did to the new hope of the galaxy, Luke SKywalker.
      Not even Mark Hamill himself.

  12. Steph

Lol thats not what he said. And there is no Rey film. You obviously didn’t notice the Galactic cruiser is shuttering. The STs dead. The reality is Disney wont make something we all hate. We hate the ST and Rey.

    1. Peter Parker

Except they absolutely plan on making a Rey based movie. They have talked about it multiple times … so u should probably Google that…

      1. Me

If Disney wants to throw money away let them there are better characters they can continue the saga with if they want to make more movies but they choose to use a character nobody likes let’s make 1% happy and watch another BO failure their money not mine.

  13. Obi-Wan

The last jedi didn’t divide the fan base. It just showed whk were fans and who was there just to say they watch star wars…
No fan likes how they ruined the hero and new hope in the galaxy for over 40 years by turning him jnto a grumpy old man. That was not Luke skywalker. Even Mark Hamill himself said he wasn’t acting as Luke skywalker…
    Maybe Luke’s clone Luuke…
But no fan of Star Wars likes the last jedi…

  14. Vert

Anyone who says SW is dead isn’t a fan. Lucas had the Expanded Universe originally as a vehicle for continuing SW. Some of those stories are fantastic. Some maybe not so much. It sometimes went in wild directions. But I always appreciated every effort. Same with the Sequel trilogy, as with all disney SW, drinks deep from the EU well. The story is good, maybe execution left us wanting. But a good effort. All other new era SW is fantastic. I don’t know what people expect. It’s like they demand the Mona Lisa of the OT consistently over and over. Get real. Over entitled snots need to gain some perspective.

    1. Me

Except Lucas said star wars was over after making episode 3 said it was Anakin’s story alone and he was done only after Disney made their atrocious trilogy did Lucas change his mind and create scripts for his own. Call me a non fan if you please your opinion matters to me not.

  15. Rich

Retcon the sequels! Go with Lucas’ original plan! Save yourselves! Bring Luke back! Favreau and Filini are doing their best to salvage Star Wars but they are but two men!!

  16. I grew up watching Star wars in 1977 I’m dating myself here the problem I have with this whole entire Luke Skywalker thing is he’s not dead not by a long shot whether you want to call it Cannon Legends whatever I’m talking about the expanded universe of the 90s and in that universe Luke Skywalker survives ,
been evacuates battles this lost tribe of the sith ends up letting this group take over the Jedi Temple abandoned corset trying to trap the sith leaves people behind to provide intelligence then returns with the remaining Jedi hoping to keep the sith in the temple destroying corset then you informed the Republic that he’s leaving coruscant takes the Jedi and go chases some anomaly and that’s where we’re left nearly 40 years after return of the Jedi, so I’m sorry Disney has a problem here I hope they can solve it in

  17. I just can’t see how they can leave him out. He IS Star Wars and I loved that they crossed him into the Mandalorian to make things a little more whole.

  18. Wayne

I was heavily invested in the Star Wars universe. Reading all the books and falling in love with all the characters as they were developed in print. And then, along came Disney. They destroyed Star Wars for no reason. There were so many story lines in the Star Wars legacy Disney could have followed instead of doing what they did. Disney seems to have a habit of doing stuff like that.

  19. Bill

When you think of Star Wars, is not Luke, Obi-Wan ,and Han, the first thing that comes to mind. Sure make your spin offs. I like it. But I want to see what happened to Luke between movies. It would be easier to move on from Luke if that’s what they’re going to do, if they give the people what they want. More Luke Skywalker, More Han Solo. All the characters from the first trilogy made Star Wars what it is. We have all these new characters wich is great, but we need more of the old crew.

  20. He has left as Jake Skywalker, but will wake up in Legends ten times more powerful than anyone that Disney can think of. Jake disappeared never to be seen again thank goodness, but now he’s returning to Legends in his true form.

  21. Me

Starwars is a Darth Vader/Anakin story even Lucas said that when he created the prequel trilogy the story was about him alone. I never cared for the sequel trilogy cause Vader was barely even mentioned Luke was ok but he’s more of a supporting character remove Luke and you still had starwars even Leia could have filled Luke’s shoes in the OT.
Starwars is a borefest without Vader. Anakin force ghost could have at least been there to guide Luke when he was at his weakest in the sequel trilogy and I would have at least appreciated that as was teased in the ROTJ ending. Starwars is history.

  22. Cal

The Star Wars universe ended on Episode 6.

No point in trying to raise Disney’s abomination from the dead

  23. Ian

pure Disney garbage and ignorance – Luke IS Star Wars and always will be. It’d be like taking Indiana Jones out of Indiana Jones (oh wait…..)
